I know the Fuel Gauge is kind of funky on the LX-150, but can someone give me an idea of approximately where the needle is when the Fuel light first comes on? (i.e. halfway between empty and 1/4 full, or closer to empty, or ??)
Thanks!

Mines different depending on the mood of my LX that day When the light comes on you have about 20 miles before running out. It's probably closer to 25 but i err on the less side. Hope this answers your question

Actually - I wasn't asking how many miles you have left when it comes on... I was asking approximately where the needle is pointing when the light comes on...

I don't know how your gauge works but mine sometimes stays on E or maybe it will go to 1/4. It is so unpredictable that i won't even consider using the gauge. Yellow light comes on and then i know how much gas i have left. Figure that if it doesn't read properly to begin with i would be taking a chance trying to read something that's faulty to begin with.

I've been trying to run mine dry close to the house so I can get a real close idea of total miles to an empty tank. I've been up to 140 miles so far without running empty. I'll post my total when I find out.

Fuel Light
When less than 1/4 tank, my needle fluctuates depending on motion: accelerating=higher reading; decelerating=lower reading. That leads me to believe that the float is toward the rear of the tank. When level, like at a stop light, I think it should be the most accurate. My light starts to flicker when I'm indicating about a millimeter above the empty mark at the bottom of the gauge (not the peg below the marked portion) and starts to stay on continuously when I hit the empty mark. I agree with the other posters that I have about 20 miles available at that point and start looking for a gas station.
