Modern Vespa

I have a GTS, my father is thinking of buying a GT. We were wondering if, assuming he decided he needed more power, could he kit the GT and get more of a GTS type feel. Anyone out there do that? He'd buy a GTS but I think in general he doesn't need the extra power and he can get a GT much cheaper - let me know your thoughts.

I love my GT!!
I think it has the perfect amount of power for anyone under 300-350 lbs, unless he'll be taking it on the interstates

But... if he wants to ride at frequently above 60 mph,
he should just go straight to the GTS

Probably, that would make more sense than trying to mod a GT

I have kitted a GT, and decided the best way to do it is to replace it with a GTS250.

It is very difficult to get a higher top speed. A PM62 exhaust added about 2kph to mine.

My best mods were a J.Costa variator, which gave it lovely accceleration, and Malossi clutch springs to get rid of that hesitation on take-off.

Otherwise there is the Malossi camshaft, the Polini 210cc cylinder, Malossi torque driver, etc, but you will spend an awful lot of money for very little benefit.
