You know I love Top Gear!!! the show is basically a comedy/ car test show. I believe some people probably take him too literally when he says stuff. Cool scooter.

Top Gear is one of the best shows on TV anywhere.

Clarkson did say that that P-50 3 wheeled microcar he drove was the perfect car, so he should love scooters.

I adore Top Gear- especially the challenges. I thought I would bust a gut when they went caravaning and set everything on fire!

I wouldn't watch an American version because it would be guaranteed to be horrible.

I wouldn't put it past him to ride a Vespa around town. His criticism against bikes is mainly focused on dumbass squids.

I'm against irresponsible jackasses too, and I ride a Vespa. The two are not mutually exclusive.

And an American TopGear would be just plain wrong.

We now have a Top Gear Australia. I have tried watching it twice, and have given up. Give me the real thing!

Yeah, I love Warren Brown but not even he was enough to save it. I spared myself the grief this week. I wish it worked, but I want the real thing.

Jeremy Clarkson is an arse.

He's wearing a helmet mike in the picture. He's probably borrowed the bike during a break from filming some scooter piss-take.

I loathe the man, I must say. He himself can get away with the stuff he says (just) because he's funny and charismatic, but he encourages other people to spout off the same daft opinions without any of the mitigating wit and charm.

I totally agree - he looks like a novice on that scoot.

I generally hate him for the amount of pointless wrecking they do in Top Gear, the Kelisa thing comes to mind (which is mentioned in that link), I prefer the other two presenters and genuinely dislike Clarkson.

You do know the show is not a documentary, it is entertainment.

Spouting absurd, inflammatory "opinions" is just for the fun and shock value.

too right foureyes. that man is complete tw*t. i'm sure it is all just an act - i know someone who used to work with clarkson and she said he's actually rather civilised, but turns it on for the camera. however, i've read some of his newspaper columns and he does seem to be a complete right-wing knobhead.

Jeeeeeeeez, lighten up Top Gear is now a comedy and as such not to be taken too seriously, and by the way the Oz version is pretty crap - like being in an inferior alternative universe Red Dwarf style!

I tried reading one of his books this year, and gave that up. He loves his own opinions too much - they are all "God-given". But I enjoy him being an asshole in the show.

Kam and foureyes, I agree with you both. I don't watch TG anymore. He lays it on for the show but after you've read his newspaper page (can't remember exactly which paper, Mail on Sunday?) you'll see he's a big jerk. Although his page is good fun to laugh at, in a 'look at the village idiot' kind of way.
