There is a Sidecar Rally in Griffith Park, Crystal Springs Picnic Area on Sunday Oct. 19 from 9am to 3 pm, free for spectators. I love sidecars and plan to scoot over there from Woodland Hills between 9 and 10 am. Crystal Springs is past the Zoo area.

There is a Ural dealer in Ventura where you can see and probably test drive one. They are two wheel drive but kind of slow. About 65 mph max, but they sure look neat in the camo colors with the spare mounted on the sidecar. They are essentially the Russian copy of the WWII BMW military cycle upgraded enough to meet DOT requirements for sale in the US.

I sat in one at the Long Beach Motorcycle show last year. I loved the white one and all the accessories they come with. Didnt know they only did 65mph, but that would be cool with me. I could fit the wife and stepson in and on it.

I got the 65 mph max from the specs in a Ural sales folder.

The wife is off to do her thang, So I plan on riding out, should be some good photos.

Is this actually a riding rally or a come look at stuff rally? Either way, I may be over there around noon or so.

Talked with a guy who owned one, hes said 70mph if your lucky.

He also told of the rubber issues they have and vibration issues, but other than that they are nice bikes.
