Anyone out there ride a vintage scoot or Bajaj Chetak in the North San Diego counties?
I was curious if anyone else out there is in my neck of the woods (Carlsbad) that has one and is riding on a somewhat daily basis.
Thanks

I know there's a guy in Leucadia with a Bajaj, but I haven't seen him around much lately. And I sold my old Bajaj to a girl in that area but I don't know how much she's riding either.
I guess I'm not so helpful, am I? |

Nah it's cool. Do you know if it's a white one? I think I've seen him around if that's the right one?

no, the guy I'm thinking of has the jade green color. He used to commute to work in Vista which would be a really nice ride to do every day. Not sure if he's still doing that though.

I've seen the guy on the white one on Polomar Airport Rd awhile back ago. Other than that...I haven't seen anything. I ride to work from La Costa to Sorrento Valley everyday along the PCH and see everthing but vintage scoots or bajajs. It's such a nice area to ride...just a little surprised that I don't see more people cruisn' vintage or bajajs.

once in a while you may see my partner heading north on PCH in the morning (red Bajaj). Occasionally she will do the long ride from our place in SD up to Oceanside for work. Takes about an hour and a half each way going that way but you can't beat the ocean view.

I have an orange 75 Rally 200, and I'm doing a rebuild on a 1970 Sprint which will be the yellow/orange color on the new FJ Cruiser.

Hey Len -
Very cool. Where are you at in N. SD? Are you still in the process of the re build? |

I'm in Fallbrook. I'm still working on the Sprint rebuild. Frame, cowls, fender have been blasted and epoxy primed, I'm replacing the bearings and seals (almost done with that) and I'm hoping to have the motor back together by the 26th. Then I'll rebuild the front fork. I'll be taking the wheels for the Rally and the Sprint to the powder coater this week as well. I still have a ways to go, because before I paint I really need to get the bike completely put together so I can see if there are any holes, etc that need to be drilled. Then, take it all apart again, paint, and reassemble!

I really wish I had the time to take my bike apart like that and do it 100% right the first time. I'm in the process of putting in a new coil and condensor and then later on a new gas tank. I'm having trouble where the scoot just dies at WOT. I was wondering where you order or pick up most of your parts? I'd like to see pics of your Sprint when it's all finished!
