Sorry but I'm not at all mechanically minded but wanted to know how often should I be checking/filling my hub oil level (quoting from manual)?

My new LX 2 stroke has done 1,500 km, the dealer changed the oil at it's first 1,000 service but I don't know what I should be doing. I unscrewed the dipstick a while back and the level was fine but since my service the dealer has screwed it so tight I can't get it off.

Anyone advice how often I should be checking it or topping it up? Manual recommends 'Agip Rotra 80w-90' which means nothing to me. Should I be topping it up often before my next service? I'm presuming it's a funnel job?

Apologies again but the manual makes me worry. I doesn't make it clear which jobs you should be doing and how often, and which ones your dealer should do...

gearbox oil will get changed again at 12000km service , you can check it but level will not drop unless there's a leak .

the oil is 80w-90 gear oil to GL4 ( halfords car type )

use mole grips on a rag to protect plastic to loosen dipstick

You shouldn't need to check it between services. Use an open ended spanner to unscrew the dip stick or one of those disposable rubber gloves wrapped around it so you can get a grip on it.
