Bought my vespa LX50 in may.
Girlfriend crashed it in may.
Got it repair, pass it on the insurance, costed me 250.00$ CAN but insurance will rise a lot.
Got hit and run in August.
Still have to get it evaluated, have not done so yet. Scared that insurance will rise a lot again.
Now, 1 hour ago, I got my front piaggio badge stolen in front of my house. They scratched the hood doing so.

Really starting to be pissed....Is it bad karma, misfortune...

What did you do to deserve THAT!?

Seriously though, sometimes crap like that happens. The best thing is to regulate who gets to ride, and take great care in where and how you park. Park in a safe spot, visible but not in someone's way. Use a cover if you have one to deter tampering. I've been tipped and scratched and crap too...

My GF never drove it afterward. In fact, nobody drives it besides me.

Now I am really being carefull about the location and the way I park. Usually I park my vespa in front of my appartment with the cover on.

Only time I didnt put the cover is tonight >> got my badge stolen...

And other time is two weeks ago when I felt asleep without covering it >> Two morrons came out of a bar drunk and I heard one of them "YO ! A yellow Vespa ! Cool". Next thing I know hes on the vespa fainting to drive it. Next thing he knows I am out of my appartment in underwear with a baseball bat. He didnt know that 2 days before I got myself Hit and Run. Covered and went back to sleep.

I think the color is also for something. I thought yellow was nice, but also pretty visible so people would hit it !!! Wrong...

I think your problem is the local bar. Drunks are attracted to bright, shiny objects. Was the hit and run when you were parked at your apartment? I would explain to your landlord/janitor your problems and ask if you can park around the back, or somewhere safe (& keep it covered and chained to something solid). Tell them if you can't you'll be looking for a new place.
Good luck with it!

that is terrible. I am very lucky that I have a large double car garage. When I get the scooter it will be more or less a ride to and from work and on weekends when I am just riding. I really dont want to park it anywhere out of fear of all these bad things happening.

People are getting the struck in lots, theft, mischiefs to the scooter, and idiots sitting on them. I might lose it if I see any of this.

I feel really bad for you

Do you have a cover? 'cuz it's a good investment. I feel safer knowing mine is covered.

Why would someone steal the badge? When I was a kid my mom and dad owned a Cadillac that they had to replace the hood ornament on no less than 5 times in 4 years. I never understood why they did it. I'd just cap it off and drive the dang car.

Hood ornaments are so passé? Good luck.

Man that sucks Sending you lots of good karma your way. Cover is a great idea. People are lazy and more often than not won't bother the scoot when covered. Good luck with your repairs,

Yes I have a cover.

No, the hit and run did not happened at my place but in front of my office on a pretty busy street, between 19h00 and 21h00, time at which I notice the damage.

I really dont know either why people would steal my ornements (badge)
