I have had trouble starting my 2006 LX150 for a couple years. Problem seems especially bad when weather is warm. I have had the needle valve replaced (fixed the problem for a few weeks) and then the problem returned.

My dealer/repair shop says he has seen this more recently and Piaggio will not admit that there is a problem. He says fuel is leaking into the cylinder when it is parked and thus the electric starter can't force it out so it won't start or is badly flooded. After pushing the kick starter a few times and rolling the scooter around a bit it will start once the gas is burned out. I have started to leave the fuel cap loose so as not to build up pressure in the fuel tank. This seems to help.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

thanks

It sounds like a bad fuel tap and a dealer that is making an excuses to me. Have them pull the fuel line and check to see if it dripping. Also if the tank is not venting or the evap line from the tank is pinched this can cause some issue. When it is hot or warm out the tank will expand if it can not vent because of a pinched evap line this will cause the pressure to build on the tap and leave it stuck open and cause flooding problems. There is only one place the fuel can come from. The tank. Good luck this should be a no brainer for the dealer.
