Made my first trip home from work at below 40 degrees Fairenheit. I thought it was odd when I turned on the ignition and saw my temperature blinking 35 degrees. It stopped for a while and then it seemed to blink every time the temperature changed a degree or two. Is this normal?

My dealer just installed a new dash, (warranty) because my old one had a time and temp that was not fully illuminting some of the segments.

The new dash is a differant style and looks bolder than the old one. I like the fact that it is fully functional and that the dealer replaced it.

I love my GTS!!!

Cold!
I noticed my GTS ambient temperature flashes when it's 2 degrees C (or colder). I think it's the scooters way of telling you that it's at/near freezing outside and there could be ice on the roads.

But this is only my best guess......

If you're talking about the ambient temperature display (not the engine coolant temperature display) then you're seeing the freeze warning. If it was reading 35F, it was almost certainly colder than that (it generally reads high) and there was a risk of ice on the roads.

Everyone has seen the GPS vs Indicated when it comes to the difference in speed. Has anyone done the same for the temperature? I've noticed that it reads a few degrees higher but I've never sat down and plotted real temp vs scooter ambient temp out. Looks like I may have a winter project on my hands.

Let me be the first to encourage you in that. That kind of empirical observation and data gathering is very much what I intended MV for in the first place.

Why not, you're on. I have a industrial thermocouple thermometer, that I use for BBQing. Any one know where the temp sensor is on the GTS? The Fluke has twin thermocouples, so I'd like to put one close to the factory sensor.

The problem is Piaggio's terrible manual.

Many vehicles, including my Subaru have freeze warnings. They tend to start blinking at 37°F or so because shaded areas may have black ice even though the average temp is higher than freezing.

Your temp sensor is mounted low, so as to reflect road temps more accurately, but of course it is not a scientific instrument. It is a helpful guide.

It's on the underbelly on the left side, near the sidestand mount.
