Greetings everyone

I have the Derbi Boulevard 150 (Leader engine)

I had a Malossi multivar and kevlar belt installed about a 6wks ago
The kit came with 2 sets of weights. light ones(dont recall what the weight was) and heavy ones (14gr)

first ..anyone know what the stock roller weight is on the Derbi Boulevard?
I am not happy with the performance with the light weights in the bike. The bike was pretty fast off the line stock and its not that much faster with the new lighter weights. The one thing i lost is top end. The bike goes about the same speed but seems to be "screaming" at top speed.

i was going to put in the heavy rollers but now i am wondering if 14gr would be too heavy?
I saw somewhere mentioning 10.5 gr rollers for the Derbi. Is that the stock weight?

hmm. looking at the malossi website they say
"19x17 gr.10 for original variator"
and
"20x17 gr14 for multivar 2000"

what would the gr14 weights do for me? i am trying to find out what the lighter roller weights were in the kit. i am assuming they are less than 10gr
I wonder now if i should just take out 3 of the light weights and put in 3 of the 14gr?

any advice ?

Before anything, my LX has been kitted to a 190cc but I also runs the Malossi variator.

Here's my experience. The lighter weights improved my acceleration but lost the top end speed and the rollers had flat spots within 2 weeks. Then I used mixed rollers (heavy and light that came with the variator). Better top end but again flat spots and noisy rollers. Now I'm only usnig the heavier rollers (14gr) I found it to be the best all around and a lot quieter. I do have a set of 15gr that I will try next.

I have a similar setup as Atomic Hank (kitted LX190, Malossi Multivar). I use mixed 9.5g and 14g rollers. Smoother acceleration curve, higher top end. Probably ready to change rollers at a little over 4K miles on this set. I'm going to stick with this setup for now. Having higher top end but losing off the line acceleration isn't useful for the type of riding I do, mostly urban commuting in traffic. Top end with the mixed rollers is plenty high for me.

Thanks gang.

i think i am going to go ahead and try the 14g weights

also
tomorrow i get 1 new tire for front installed. (rain/winter tire..michelin pilot city.....still have crappy stock tires)

i await a warranty replacement rear wheel(warped) and new rear tire(backorder) new pads will be installed at same time.

also good news ..got message from shop that the windscreen i ordered last week came in. (Puig city Touring) so that will be installed as well.

In a month or so i have to go back for the 12000ish km valve check/adjustment so if i do not like the 14g weights i can look to change them at that time. and hopefully my new wheel and tire will be in by then as well.
