rubbish, I bet you it's just a cocky policeman on a bike trying to have fun and show himself off to his mates.. "Dave"
yes, the speeding was bad, but the overtaking on the solid white lines most of it was within the lane, i.e. not on the wrong side of the road the bad bit was the speeding, but this just reminds us that we are NOT actually allowed to just overtake wherever we can, hehe, as we normally do here in London due to heavy traffic, even if it's at 5mph, can get done in for it! |

Knowing British police and British police motorcyclists I'm not buying that that's a police chase. Fake.

I stand corrected.
http://www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/newshastings/Motorcyclist-filmed-doing-140mph-on.4537826.jp I find it hard to believe that the copper would have ridden like he did for so long. His riding was as dangerous as the biker's. |

The offenders lines were crap. The Police rider did just fine.
The perp was an arsehole giving a bad name to all PTW riders. I wish he had been banned for life. |

This was interesting, and good quality for a high speed run. I'm not sure I was clear about some comment that suggested that the pursuer was in an unmarked bike. Is that considered above-board?
Anyway, it lead me off on a link to a Glasgow Scots high speed police training film, with cut-outs to a narrator speaking in some Strathclyde I've not heard in a while. Not really bad advice either. Too much wind while they were on the bike though. |

great video on an entertainment level, but raises serious questions about responsible policing.

I am a Law Enforcement Officer and just don't agree with the video. An UNMARKED !!!! You could never get away with that here anymore. If you chase a vehicle here you just about gotta have a marked unit with you. I would never take the risks that the Police Officer riding took. Just for a traffic violation! I am glad they did catch the guy and bring justice .

They weren't following him to apprehend him on the road, just to gain conclusive evidence that would stand up in court. Intel suggested that might not be a wise move to try to stop him in action - plus it is policy here not to chase down motorcycles, we don't drive them off the road or shoot them here.
There are many unmarked police cars and motorbikes in the UK, and most of us are very grateful there are. Normally they are used for surveillance, and this incident just falls into that category. FWIW as an advanced trained and tested rider myself, the police rider played it quite safe as far as we were allowed to see in the video. |
