About a month ago I just bought a used '07 250 GTS that had 400 miles for $4750. Was in excellent cond, like brand new. I think I got it at a great price, since it costs about $6800 to get one out of the local showroom. I'm told they hold they're value pretty good. It's so much fun to drive !!
I just took it for the initial 600mi check up, and it cost me like $180. Seemed pretty steep to just change the oil and filter and check everything out. Does anyone know of a maintenance manual that shows you how to change your own oil and filter ? I'm sure this will save you lots of money in the long run.
Would really appreciate any advice for a first time Vespa owner.
Thanks

Welcome. Look here:

GTS oil change

Take a look in the technical library section for other useful stuff, too.

..HI For most of us with new scoots, thing is to keep your warrenty, etc.. reckon its best to let the shop do it, and stamp your book...but if you can do it all yourself, and its a few years old, then i agree try it out.. mart

Sounds like you found a good deal on a good ride.
My dealer hit me for that much at the 600 mile service. I said OUCH!
I found this free download whilst ordering some stuff from Jettin.

enjoy the ride

Congratulations on the new scooter! Pretty good price too! I pay a lot less for service on the GTV here in MPLS - there are many folks who do their own maintenance here on MV without a problem.

The 600 mile service is more than just an oil change. Having just had mine done, I was a little surprised until I read the manual and discovered they change the hub oil, and other inspect other break-in related stuff. I was told a regular oil change was only $45'ish.
