Great singer.

He was fantastic and had a voice that was easily recognizable when one of his songs came on the radio. I knew that he had a stroke and had also suffered from cancer that stopped him from performing around 1999 or 2000.

I remember when I was in high school and meeting him & other members of The Four Tops in the area where they parked their buses back in 1964 & again in 1965 when the Motor City Review would come to the local auditorium. Back then, Motown would send several buses full of their top entertainers on these promotional tours and you could hear three hours or more of live music for $5.00. It was fantastic. Anyone could just walk behind the auditorium and talk with the stars who were smoking and hanging out before and after the show ended.

I literally winced out loud. I Loved his voice, which was evocative of an era and style of music never to be duplicated.

Condolences to his loved ones.

Love that song (it was co-written w/ Lamont Dozier).
