Modern Vespa

I dig those low profile grab rails. Are they only available in SEA? I've only seen them on Asian scooters and can't find them for sale.

I reckon all new vespa S has grabtail after Piaggio received complaints about the inconvinience of not having one.

With a whopping 256 miles on the odometer, this 2010 joined my garage:

Literature and review suggested a top speed expectation of 39mph, and i was not misled:

Malossi literature promised a 6MPH increase with the white Contra spring and their variator loaded with 36 grams. Once again, the Hype was correct:

Anyway, a longer duration, higher lift cam is on its way from Malossi, as well as a 49mm cylinder kit and taller final drive gears, all of which I plan to install next week. If anyone else has sought a bit better performance from their S50 and has encountered any snags, I am all ears. Otherwise I plan to post my results once they are achieved.

Thanks, Mocker. Package has yet to arrive, but I've watched Scooter West Videos and have a good bit of experience modifying Honda SA50 Elite 2-strokes to near-maximum output. I hope anyone with direct experience would be willing to share the "snags" associated with any top-end and cam replacement specific to this model.

I've been scouring the Inter-Nutz for about 4 hours now trying to find a State-side source for a final drive gear case cover gasket. Any advice is welcome.

Boy do I feel stupid! The Service Manual spells it out: the seal is achieved by a bead of LocTite 510 only! The reason I couldn't find a gasket is...they ain't one! I confirmed this with George at Scooter Parts Co., who got a chuckle at my expense. I have much to learn...

Mocker's right! I made the mistake of applying some tape to mine. Tape pulled up the paint! Beware.

S and T5 both MOTd for another 12 months, S had done 360 miles in 12 months, T5 had done 75 miles in 12 months

MP3 and X9 got all the mile munching last season!

I have actually found some speckles on the bike but thanks for the warning. My first Vespa was orange so the color has sentimental value...I will try to take care of it. It's a great ride

330 mile round trip to mid Wales this weekend. S 125 didn't miss a beat 😎

Something occurred to me this weekend..

I normally use either the MP3 250 or X9 500 for longer rides, but having done this 330 mile ride on the 'S', I realised how much more I enjoyed it!

Making the most of tail winds, tucking in for head winds, excellent engine breaking on the downhill twisties, and a riding position / saddle that meant I wasn't hobbling round for 2 days after the ride!

I really have neglected the fact that Vespa small frames are bloody awesome machines when you stay off the motorways 8)

I love road tripping on my S. Nimble and happy to do 50 all day long.

2500 miles since I got it in March and I think the 150 is the sweet spot away from freeways.

Southernmost Point. The actual continental southernmost point is in the Navy base behind the fence. An attempt at seeing the tourist spots one more time.

that's some big mileage for a little'un, especially in the Keys, do you commute on it?

I live 23 miles from work each way. Sometimes I go into town on a separate trip. I do very little around town stop and go. Mostly on the highway 55-60.
