Conchscooter, it looks pretty wild down there at the moment

It also looks like the S is ideal for weaving round the flotsum and jetsum!

It's getting better. I had a few thoughts on the Vespa as a survival tool. And now with a new drive belt ready for more miles.

Great Blog, Conch!
Greetings:

I enjoyed your blog. It imparts a very real sense of what it's like to weather a Cat. 4, and its aftermath.

Night shift gas stop. Big Coppitt Key.

My favorite gas station on my commute has re-opened though the convenience store is just a container.

Hello from NYC!
Been riding my 2011 S150 (in NYC-glossy black, of course) on the mean streets of the five boroughs for the past two years.
She's a tough little ride, and unfortunately gets knocked around a bit by inconsiderate and careless parkers. That said, she's the most agile thing on the road when she's in motion. I ride her all year long, unless it's snowing. (tried that once -- it wasn't pretty)
Shouts out to all the New Yorkers out there -- I see you all out on the streets, but not really online...

Attached is a pic of her all shiny from the summer:

I hope the pup wasn't abandoned. Those stories break my heart, although he looks healthy.
I'm a little north of you but took off during irma and went to stay with friends in SC. I escaped damage.
Let's hope this year is calm.

New Vespa S150 owner - Glovebox
Hey Guys
I'm a brand spankin new vespa owner in dallas.
I recently purchased a gently used S.
I love it, but i've questions on the glove box.
Anyone know why it's just two cups instead of an enclosed box?
And secondly, why is there a raised cup in the bigger cup?
Is it for change? I can't imagine change staying there.
I can barely wedge my phone in there....

Thanks for any responses!

There are two pockets instead of the glovebox so that the legshield can be thinner and less obtrusive than on the LX and LXV models. They might not be there at all except that the "raised cups" have to be there anyhow. That's because those provide the spaces for the running-light reflector housings (specifically, the light bulb socket wiring behind the reflector housings).

has anybody changed out the all of the chrome for plain black on their S50?

I am planing on doing so to mine and just wanted to see the final result and wonder if you purchased powder coated stuff or DIY for the cheap?

Went out for a run up the M6 on Sunday, actual 63.1mph (GPS) 70mph (speedo), quite happy with that out of a 125cc air cooled, 2-valve carburettor Vespa

Hi everyone! I recently bought a Vespa S 125 Zaffferano and would like to add some bar end weights. Anyone have experience doing that? Id like to know if the three is already in the bar before I cut the rubber

Any links very welcome! Thanks in advance

I was after a 125 Zaff for ages, ended up buying a white S

just had a look on Ebay and found these..

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vespa-Zafferano-125-Black-aluminum-Weighted-Bar-Ends-13-17mm/123975549323?hash=item1cdd84c18b:g:aS4AAOSwzL9dzXeh

looks to me like an expanding rubber bung arrangement?

however, it could also be that the thread's already there, like on the Primavera ..

if you do fit some, let me know, as I might go for some myself

Thanks for your reply! Looking at the listings I think these are universal fit as they have the same weights posted under plenty of different bike names. Super helpful though!

I'm going to do some research into whether the thread is already in the bars I'll let you know the outcome!
