I was wondering if anyone has a wide tire kit installed on their scoots? If so, what is all that is involved with this and did you get better handling around corners etc?

I've only seen this done on one bike (personally) and I never rode it. IIRC, you have to shave a bit of the swingarm down to do it. You should get better traction due to the wider tire.

Have it. Didn't do it though.

Seems like a lot of $$ and PITA to get a little more meat on the ground.

You will need to cut about 1/2" off one side of the motor and place a spacer on the other side to off set the motor for the offset of the wheel.
You need to ready take the motor out to cut the motor chunk off.

Then hopefully the fan shroud does not rub on your side cowl.

Get yourself some 4.00 rims and you should be good.

This does sound like a pain in the ass. Is the tire that much wider though? I really don't want to have to pull the motor and shave "chunks" off of it.

I don't think the handling will be any better. I just think it looks awesome.
