Just did over 1,100 miles in less than 5 days, and I must say the stock seat for a 5'10" man with 32" inseam was quite uncomfortable. I had to adjust seating position after every 20~30 min, and the foam cushion is just not very supportive at all. Imo, the stock seat is not great for touring. If I could, I would get my stock seat extended, like the Pirate model, then have gel inserts placed strategically, and finally recovered in a nice, high quality vinyl so my butt cheeks and other soft tissues in that area won't be so sore after touring.
Other than the seat, the mp3 500 performed way beyond my expectations, and I would highly recommend touring on your mp3 500! Cheers!
