...So cheap in the UK at the moment. Ok, so we're all feeling the pinch of the credit crunch but I just found three on biketrader.co.uk, brand new for £3k.

As the grass is always greener though, I'll be holding out for a low miles example of a GTS 300 in a few months time! One of those heartbreaking ads that reads "unwanted present"... that'll do nicely!

why are they so much cheaper than the rrp at the moment? I am so tempted myself but I need to get my test sorted first.

Hi, agree the 250 and 300 cc, seem a great buy.....Shame not done my test...still could'nt wait forever, got a 125cc for now... May just have to make do...But you never know...expect thet are a better deal, as not selling as many as the smaller cc,s ??....If it were upto me , i'd have one of each..ha Laughing emoticon

Not sure why they're so cheap - assume they want to shift them before the 300 becomes popular.

There was mention of the 278cc doing significantly better mpg at high speed than the 250cc - probably down to the torque being produced lower down necessitating lower rpms - I'm still holding out for the 300!

That said, I rode my GT200 from west London to Shropshire yesterday and she flew down the road. In traffic (less wind resistance) I was seeing avg 75mph on the clock with a tall screen and a bag full of luggage on board!

I got my 250 last december with accessories for just over £3000 and was tol;d that the shop made just £100 profit which was negated by the £150 worth of free stuff. They said that they just wanted to sell some bikes because of the time of year, plus the new 300 will help drive prices down somewhat, and also because it's coming to the end of the year and they want to give their annual sales figure a boost!
