not that I am getting one... don't really need it here in Alabama. But do any of you guys on MV use them? How safe are they? They look like they would restrict leg movement. Just curious.

i've got two lap aprons - one 'scooter skirt', and one tucano lap apron that attaches to the scooter. neither one restricts leg movement. however i'm not comfortable going over about 45mph with the scooter skirt on because i don't like the flapping. they come with velcro to that you can use to stick the skirt to the cowls, but i don't like the idea of putting big strips of velcro on the cowls.
never had any trouble with the tucano apron at any speed (well, any speed up to about 68mph; my ET4s won't go any faster) - they are very stable. |

When it's really really cold I use mine and love it.
No feeling of being restricted. It even has a pocket for a towel to wipe off my face shield if it's misting. One thumb up. |

I use my scooter skirt in the winter. Not restrictive at all and keeps the legs very warm.

I use mine all winter: it's a Corrazzo brand. It came with the velcro, but I don't use it. I haven't had any flapping problems, even at freeway speeds. Highly recommended.

Are there any shops in the US that are selling these?
Has anyone tried the hot cover offered by Piaggio? |

I have seen them in Scoot! Magazine and was wondering about them. I don't ride enough for one but thought about one for my wife. Thanks for the feed back!

Up here in Montreal, it doesn't take long before the cold comes in. I got myself a lap apron and have been using it for the past couple weeks. I don't like the velcro, so I had a seamstress saw some 'belts' that goes around the front. It is not an eyesore and tightens perfectly. I will be posting pictures very soon.

I really like mine
It's great for commuting the short distance to the college where I teach As long as I'm wearing boots, I can wear skirts under it and still be quite comfortable all winter It's also got reflective stuff on it, for when I'm riding to my night classes |

I use the Corazzo lap apron and I love it! Fast to get on and off, very cozy with good protection from wind and rain. I don't use the velcro either and so far it hasn't flapped but I don't go highway speeds. I don't have any trouble with it interfering with my legs at stops.
I must say though, if it was colder or I had a longer commute I would spring for the Tuscano Urbano scooter skirt like L has. The Sportcity version has little flaps to direct our warm air vents and you get this nice bubble effect of warm air. Plus it has a seat cover. But so far a towel in my top case and the lap apron stuffed into my underseat storage has kept me warm and dry. |
