Is there such a thing made like a adjustable back rest that can be mounted on the passenger grips? Our club went on a long ride today and it would have been nice to have a back rest (not the one for the passenger) but something that is bolted, or mounted. Has anyone made such an item, or is there one that can be purchased?

I saw a harley rider once years ago in SF who had a BIG teddy bear strapped in on the passenger seat. He was looking kinda comfortable riding down the road with the bear as his back rest Me i would of preferred a panda but hey to each their own Sorry i can't be more of a help to ya but i have the same problem even with not so long rides. I just get off every so often and move around. Helps but then again i live on an island so how far can i really go in one day Good luck

How 'bout a Pack-rest? Probably not exactly what your looking for but it does offer driver back support

But I already have a Vespa top case, I wonder if that will work with my current top box.

I think it would work. I used to do something similar on my Scarabeo. I had a topcase on the rear rack, and used a motorcycle tailpack strapped to the passenger area as a backrest on my longer trips (not to mention the extra storage). Worked just fine. Actually, I felt better that the topcase was behind the pack, because it assured me that it wasn't going to fly straight off the back of the scoot if I leaned on it too much.

Biker's Friend bags are barrel bags in an asortment of sizes with a HARD plastic core that is specifically designed to be a backrest and luggage.

http://bikersfriend.com/

I have a medium one (bought used off ebay) and love it. I may consider buying a XL or Large in the future depending how mu topcase and sidecases work out once I have them installed.

Thanks, for the link, that is what I'm looking for. I dropped them an email to see what size they would recommend for the GTS.

There's also this one made by Cuppini that both Scooter Works and MotorSport have:

http://www.scooterwest.com/item_detail/GTS-Rear-Back-Rest-Cuppini-Fits-on-Stock-Rack/2709/

http://www.scooterworks.com/Backrest_GTS250_-_Fits_stock__P6874C277.cfm

It fits on your stock GTS back rack.

This part is not to be confused with the following back rest, also made by Cuppini, which DOES NOT work with your existing GTS stock back rack:

http://www.scooterworks.com/Backrest_GTS250_-_Fits_Cuppin_P4544C277.cfm

Not sure if this is what you were looking for, but I'm just putting some other options out there.

From the looks of that back rest is is for your rider, and I already have that built into the top box. What would really be sweet is to have an adjustable (sort of a quick release type mechanism) that attaches to the side seat grips.
