First off, this forum has been an immense help to me during the past 7 months of scooter ownership! Thanks to everyone! Because of you, I have been able to do my own oil changes, rear tire changes, replace light bulbs, and so much more.

I just got the desire to remove the stock mirrors on my gt200 and replace them with bar ends. I have seen posts on this board where people have done this and I was wondering: How has your bike's handling been affected?

As a test earlier today, I removed my mirrors and went for a ride around the block and I noticed a much stronger wobble in the handlebars than usual. It was to the point where if I had not grabbed the handle bars when I did, I am pretty sure I would have met the pavement

I guess I could simply not take my hands off the handlebars... but with my stock mirrors I have been able to confidently take one or more hands off without getting too much wobble.

any really heavy bar ends out there? would that even help? Thanks again!

Get the Jettin heavy bar ends and the CRG lane splitter mirrors.

+1 and don't take your hands off the handlebars. motor scooters and motorcycles are balanced different. the smaller vespa tires = unstable faster when not controlled. please be very careful.

+2 - get the heavier Jettin Bar ends on the CRG land splitters - they are a bit pricey but they are the best mod I've ever done. Visibility is increased 10X - I love them! and they look damn cool too.

I copied AK and love the results.
Instead of filling in the holes like AK I just went to advance auto parts and found some plastic plugs to fill in the holes left by the stock mirrors.
Didn't really notice difference in handling but I know I look faster with the CRG lanesplitters.
Next mod is a 130/70 front tire that should be noticeable

I also copied..Got sink sprayer hole covers in chrome from the hardware store and epoxyed to 8mm bolts. The lane-split mirrors are great. Also used the heavy Jettin bar ends and there is no noticeable wobble or any other problems.

I hope you didn't ditch your stock mirrors and only meant that figuratively. I have CRG LS mirrors and the heavy ends, but have kept my stock mirrors as I have with other stock parts (i.e. exhaust, seat, barends, etc). Ya just never know...

But why I kept my Savas I will never know.
