Hello all - just bought a black BV500. I'm trying to adjust the rear suspension preload from 1 to 2, but I can't figure out how to get the left hand side to rotate. Any spot that I can get the preload wrench to grab hold of, the wrench bangs up against something before I can finish rotating to the next setting. Is there some trick that I'm missing here? Thanks.

I had the same problem it is a pain! I managed to get it to turn part way and stay so I could get the wrench off and back on to get it to turn fully. Maybe someone has a better suggestion?

I have quite a similar problem on my beo500 (it is based on the same frame-engine basis as BV500 and the rear shocks are nearly the same model) and I somehow succeed with a two-time operation:

first, I turn the ring nut until its pawl reaches a balance point onto the edge of the locking pin. Then, very rapidly, I remove the spanner and set it back to a useful position for further turning the ring nut, until it reaches the next fixed point.
The only complication you can find is in feeling when to stop turning for reaching the balance point.

I hope I used the right terminology.

I meant to say the same thing you were just that much clearer.

Thanks!
Thanks to all for the help - got it to work using the hold-it-between method. Thanks!
