I don't know what happened...

I was reading a pdf document, and suddenly realized my Start taskbar was no longer present at the bottom of my display... it is now to the side, unreadable unless I want to obscure better than a third of my screen, and I can't figure out how to put it back on the bottom. In its present state, I'm now crippled in my ability to efficiently and properly manage my needs... I can't keep it this way, but I can't figure out how to fix it. I have Windows ME, if that helps. Please, if anyone knows what went wrong, and how to fix it, I'd be grateful. Any advice would help. Thanks...

Addendum: I've been told I may have a Bloodhound type virus, brought in through my Adobe Acrobat Reader...

Click on an empty area of the taskbar and drag it down to the bottom of the screen.

Tried that first thing, didn't work....

If, as the other person elsewhere said, I have a virus, I may be stuck with it, unless I have a way to repair it.

Well, PDFs don't carry viruses, since PDF files have no executable code. I'll do a little research for you.

Instead of clicking on an empty area, try clicking on the clock and dragging it to the bottom center of your screen.

Also, for a good free antivirus, try AVG. The 7.5 version works on WinME.
