Obviously, most Vespa riders are very pleased with the county of origin from their scooter, ITALIA !.

Just curious, who has more specific Italian things like bicycles, cars or maybe an Italian wife?

I'm warning you...I'm not sure any Italian women I know would take being compared to a 'thing' as a compliment.... Laughing emoticon Laughing emoticon Laughing emoticon
Just hope Italian 'scooteriste' do not read this thread!

PS- instead of 'Bello Giallo', type 'Bel Giallo', it sounds better with an elision

thanks for the warning...I guess I should blame my non-native English language barrier for getting this so inappropriate.
Sure Italian woman are not to be compared with 'things'

But to improve my Italian grammar. Would 'Bella' not be for feminine and 'Bello' for masculin?.
Did not realize the elision styling is to be used here....

hey, I am just joking, no criticism intended!

It's just that, as Italian born&bred, I always find it a bit exaggerated when someone praises our products and generally our way of life in an enthousiastic way. You know, after all, the grass is always greener ..... in the neighbor's yard!

I spotted this - involuntary, definitely - humour in your putting those words side to side and I did not resist. Really, I do not think Italians are globally better than any other people in Europe or in the rest of the world, and so are Italian women.

I am really sorry, if I offended you in some way.

And now, since you ask me, a bit of Italian grammar :
'bello' and 'bella' are grammatically correct, once again it is just a matter of how it sounds in a particular, spoken language. 'Bel' stands for an abbreviation of the masculine adjective 'bello' and sometimes....simply sounds better. The underlying rules are a bit complicated and I do not want to bother you all with this kind of things.

http://www.gwc.org.uk/ModernLang/hotpot/Italian2/Adjectives.html

So, 'bel giallo' sounds better than 'bello giallo', but consider this, since you are not Italian, nobody in italy is going to blame you for that!

No offence at all, ellebubi 8)
But you can't be too carefull with Italian woman

I used it as Bello Giallo and Bella Bianca to have some kind of 'alliteration' on the endings.

In fact, Italian products do have a 'reputation' AFAIK...not for the high quality indeed. Like the saying that Italian cars used to rust on the advertisement flyers already.

But Northern European tend to have a romantic view for Italy anyway, we just love the weather, the ancient history, the spiced pastas and wine
And it is a FACT to say Italian products have more detail for design, I don't know why this is, but some adopt this as lifestyle.

PS: We actually are pleased we are not supressed by the Roman Empire anymore Laughing emoticon

The mini is a 1974 Innocenti Mini Cooper, and we absolutely love it. Took it to an Italian car and bike show last weekend, and man we got lots of quetions.

Note sure if this counts, but since I was born and lived in Italy, my daughters are at least part Italian.

My youngest is named Beatrice (said the Italian way!) after Dante Alighieri's muse:

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

Here she is a couple of years older on the Vespa when I first got it this summer before I started tinkering with it:

(And yes, I got rid of the statue on the front fender!!).

Apart from that, I guess I have lots of Italian clothes and shoes, but no other mechanical devices except for an Espresso maker.

Cheers,

That would be me: many trips to Italy, from north to beyond the south and west (that would be Sicily and Sardinia). A Fiat 126 in the distant past (with not-so-good memories), six Spaghetti Chairs, a modern Italian coffee table, several machinette da caffè, specific glasses for grappa (sorry, no grappa at the moment), and some Armani garments that I used in a former life. The Vespa, which came second to last, was only a natural progression, which led to the best of all, my loving Italian wife.

OMG! I forgot the Italian thing that's always in my house! NUTELLA!

External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

I couldn't live without it, not to mention prosciutto crudo wrapped around grissini and -- especially in hot summer months -- with some succulent cantaloupe. Yum! Now, to mix this gustatory delight with the heat of a summer day (and summer holidays, with no work or marking for two months - yay!) plus the heady aroma of two stroke Vespa exhaust wafting over the back deck as the scoot warms up for a ride --- I'm in heaven!! Too bad I only have to wait about six months!!

Cheers,
