righto, i thought it would be a good idea to create a zafferano 'log'
with numbers and locations of different zafferano's
so far ive got:

132 (me)- maidstone
42 - maidstone
14 - birmingham
199 - wimbledon
163 - wiltshire.

anyone else?

Zafferano #103 Reporting in!!

Yes, I am the third owner (as of about 11am this morning)... Not quite sure why its been moved around so often to be honest, very strange, but I'm not complaining... I got me an almost new, absolutely gorgeous, S125 at a very reasonable price - So no complaints from me! )

Actually, I have one quick Q for anyone with a Vespa S125...

I've been over every inch of my new baby to ensure that everything is as it should be... the only "flaw" I've found is on the front, on the panel with the vent / grill... There appears to be something missing at the bottom - presumably just a screw or something?

Its hard to tell from photos I've found online because its a very small hole, maybe 5 or 6mm... Just wondered if anyone can confirm what should be there?

Hi Bob and welcome. Just been out to look at mine and you're right, it is a screw holding the 'grille' trim in place. I would take it to Halfords or A1 Motorstores and get the right size to replace it. Looks like one of the smallest sizes. Mine was loose so thanks for pointing it out. Simon.

Finally de-restricted it. Now get 75mph plus!! No, only kidding. Mine is a 50cc two stroke. Quick acceleration up to 40mph, cruises comfortably at 45mph and reaches 50mph on the flat but stops there - where the speedo stops anyway.

Thanks Kegra of Southend. Managed to get the most out of a tiny engine and for 70 quid good value.

There is no restriction on any 125, only on 50cc'd scoots.

Does anyone know if there are any new ones available for sale anywhere?

Howdie owlcore, it's a ltd edition. Only 200 made in 2008 for UK market (just under half were 50s). Vespa now make lots of ltds. This one was eagerly awaited because it was the new S, supposedly the last of the 50cc 2-strokes (new EU emission regs), and supposedly a unique colour. The colour 'Taormina' then made it into the range. And they still make a 2-stroke (albeit slightly strangled to meet the new regs). They had a premium price at launch but now, as the graphics are the only difference, they get the same price as any other S.

The graphics do make it stand out to the uninitiated. But a Vespa spotter will know it is a standard S.

It might be urban myth so don't take it as gospel but two dealers have told me that many didn't sell. The £ fell against the euro and the standard S became more expensive. Dealers apparently removed the graphics to sell as the standard S. So, if true, there are not 200 out there.
