Is it possible to replace the bulbs in the braking system and the turn signals with high output LEDS or HIDs to be extra extra visible?

I'm going to do the HID light conversion kit soon but I'm just wondering about the rest of the bike.

Thanks,

Zach

here is what an HID light looks like on my bike with the stock running lights on it still.

i believe if you put LEDS on the turn signals you need to get a relay or something for them or they will blink to fast

well if you are looking for on how to install them these are the two best threads to get it done

HID headlight

&

GTS HID Headlamp Installation

i just found out that (in cali) you can have white turn signals in the front so when i get some more extra spending cash ( hopefully this weekend, i am waxing the neighbors jeep) i will get the euro turn signals and then just go to Pep Boys and get some bright white incandescent lights to finish off the look.

You don't need it for GTS - you don't have the little orbs.

See them underneath the brakes levers on the LX150? They are only on the US LXs due to DOT rules that the indicators need to be a certain distance apart. The LX's original indicators are off by a miniscule amount, but Piaggio still had to put these bolt on blinkers on to comply with the rules. Many think it ruins the lines of the scooter - it wasn't designed to have these included. With the orb blinkers near the brake levers, the lights on the front right and left side of US LXs are running lights. The Euro kit removes the orbs, and converts the running lights to blinkers, thus converting the LX back to the way it was designed to look.

Al. Not wishing to put the mockesr on your plan but I think that you will be running ilegally showing amber lights, they MUST be white to the front and red to the rear apart from indicators so having amber running lights may well contravene these requirements.

I'm having this done this winter. The mechanic is going to rewire my front indicators and they will then have dual filament bulbs that will act as running lights and turn indicators. I have not been able to find an off the shelf solution.

You make a good point, perhaps I'll need to do something different.

Pep boys has single amber leds, I tapped them into the horn running light mounted them into turn signals, Nyle drilled a small hole and siliconed them in, they more accent lights, but thats ok, they dont tax the charging system.

I've been told now that the amber running lights are OK here, so I'm going to go ahead with my planned mods this winter along with the Xenon headlight. The horncast will also be changed to an LED at the same time. It will be quite the light show after it is done.

Big no no as the HID's take a little while to warm up when you use them, hence no use as tail lights as the brake light basically wouldn't work

Sorry, I was joking about an HID taillight. There's no reason whatsoever to have a taillight that bright. It would blind the heck out of the person behind you.
