OK for those who know it looks very likely that I will be the proud owner of a GT200 in the next two weeks and I'm very excited by the prospect but this little gem lacks one thing - a fly screen.
Could anyone out there suggest a good vendor (either in the US or UK ) and how much are they ? It has to be a geniune one and none of your vespoidyakkamitchi lookalikes.
Thank you in advance for the advice

I have a GT 200 w/ the prima medium windscreen. I love it! I'm so used to it that when I ride my husbands 250 super w/ only a flyscreen the wind knocks me around.

I don't understand what good a flyscreen is? I'd think it's too small, what is it supposed to do.

Sorry for the semi-hijak.

it keeps the wind from pushing on your chest and transfers it to your helmet. If you're just around town you could deal without. Anything at 50 mph+ it makes a huge difference. Other wise your arms get tired.

Goldentrowel, have you compared it to the full height Piaggio version? I like mine but it does seem to act a bit like a windsail in gusts and though I think the new full height version is different now, yours is frameless, which is good!

My concern lies with helmet buffeting and wind noise!

Cheers,

David

I have a flyscreen, Prima small smoke color, it really serves no purpose except for looks. i like the way the smaller flyscreen makes my 250 look.

Try the VE products website. They don't sell them but you can go along to your Vespa dealer and you will know what it is you want, failing that look on the Vespa website or any of the hundreds of Vespa dealers who post on the web

Go to UK Vespa and they are under 300 accessories. Same fitting as the GT.

There are taller and shorter flyscreens to meet either the style or comfort needs of the rider. Not sure if there is one that really does both though.

I'm going to go for one that doesn't look and work like a barn door and one that deflects the wind off my chest and into my face.
I thank you.

Ahh. This is why. Usually I'm just fine around town. I don't do much driving over 50.

Thanks.

These will both get the wind off your chest and give you an extra 5mph. The smoked version is a relatively new addition and may be a few days wait from a Vespa dealer. Most dealers should stock the clear one. Scootech in E3 definitely have them if you fancy a blast up through the tunnel +10 mins. Ask for Karen and you will be able to negotiate a 10% off maybe, tell her I sent you....

Personally I prefer the clear one! The smoke would only go with black, grey, blue and maybe red. Deffo not with vintage or white.....
