I don't even have the thing yet and I'm making all these plans for it...

Did I read correctly somewhere that the standard Piaggio alarm wires into a plug off of the horn (or the running light)? Is this how most alarms would hook into it?

If so, does this completely negate the possibility of being able to add a 12v accessory socket? Or could another plug be rigged up to support both, if the system can handle it? I'd rather have the alarm than the 12v, if I have to choose only one.

Last question... I know the GTV is exactly like the GTS in most ways, but are there any differences that I might want to consider when choosing an alarm system for it?

the vespa alarm has its own block to plug into and should only be use for that , if you want a plug for 12Volts wire it off your battrie with a 10 amp fuse on the Positive end and you should be fine , all the ones I have done I pull the wire all the way to the glove box,

but its easy to just place it under your seat depending what you use it for???

As for an accessory socket, I was thinking of the "knee pad" one they have at Motorsport:

Although I might go for the brown pair, to match the leather seat.

I wasn't sure if the Vespa alarm had its own dedicated plug or not. I guess if it does, then there's no issue about whether I could hook both up. I just had a concern that maybe this particular accessory socket was using the plug meant for the alarm. Like I said, I don't actually have the bike yet, so I can't really open it up and look for myself, unfortunately.

I have seen that and the price is crazy for what can cost your 10 dollars and some time and well its not a very good place to have something pluged in when your riding Very Dangrous , you should never have any wires or anything loose hanging out like that

I understand the concept of not having dangling things while I'm riding. I also understand that it would be a very good place to plug in a GPS, heated riding gear, or a cel phone charger (with the phone resting in the glovebox, and the glovebox door carefully shut on the cable).

I do respect your opinion on my accessory decisions, but I was really just looking for answers to some questions about the electrics.

well I have made over 50 wire harnesses for vintage vespa's and many other types of scooters , did my frist re-wire of a 08 GTS that had a small electrical fire so most of the wires under the seat got replaced along with lots of rubber , I am sure I could give you whatever info you need ?

Thanks... but all I really wanted to know is whether there are any special considerations for connecting an alarm to a GTV as opposed to a GTS, and if the Motorsport accessory plug would work in addition to an alarm.
