Rings and piston were fried so I decided to go with a Malossi 210cc as a replacement.

Well it looks like the cylinder and head have cooling passages but the head gasket covers them up making them pointless. Also noticed the old cylinder didn't have some of the holes.

Do I proceed with installation or get a different gasket?

Hope someone knows the answer to this one.

I am no expert but, if it was me, I would call Malossi and ask what gasket you should use.

Definitely call Malosi, but it looks as if the largest of the ports are already uncovered, and the old cylinder didn't have that leftmost port to start with.

My guess would be no problem, but call 'em for your own piece of mind.

Ports are not just arbritrarily placed in cylinders. I'd cut some holes in the gasket if I were you.

This is the gasket that came with the kit, but yes I will call.

Also doesn't cutting a gasket ruin it's integrity?

Thanks for the advice thus far.
