I've been thinking about buying a Corazzo 5.0 jacket...does anyone have any preference on these?

I went to try them on, the Large (sleeves) are a shade too short (I'm 6'6" w/ 44L) and the extra large is just a lil' too large.

Do I want to be on the slightly bigger or slightly smaller size?

How about gloves? I was looking at their Carbone, but I've heard mesh/leather hybrids arent that great.

Thanks,

ZE

Interesting...even though it's for a woman's jacket I cannot imagine the differences are very different (other than the cut). Looks like a good jacket then.

Cha-ching!

Anyone have suggestions on good gloves?

Yes the kaki and red one is the titts I want to buy one. As for gloves I just use cheap crap. I've bought nice gloves in the past and either lost them or torn them up in a season.

You might consider getting the larger jacket and having it tailored to fit depending on where it's too large, e.g., if you could just have a tailor take in the side seams a bit that might give you the best of all worlds but if the shoulders are too big that won't work. Sleeve length is important...remember you'll be riding with your arms forward so you want to have the arms long enough, and you need to be sure the armor is in the right place. There was a recent crash report from a member in which the elbow armor shifted (and the jacket wore through during the slide) on his Corazzo. Also a mention of the velcro on the sleeve not holding the sleeves down.

Now that said, I own a Corazzo women's 5.0 - I'm 5'10" and consider it only barely long enough in both sleeves and body - and like it for around town "light duty" riding. However I often ride Skyline or Hwy 280 and considering that Daly City is in the fog belt and it's getting more wintery by the week, you may not find the Corazzo warm enough as we get further into the fall. On pleasant days I wear mine - sometimes over a liner from one of my other jackets - but when it gets really chilly I switch to leather. Freeway speeds through fog can be pretty darn chilly even in July.

Sounds good. I have found that throwing a rain coat or a wind breaker over or under your jacket makes a huge difference in the warmth during a longer ride.

Good point to highlight! Like skiing, hiking, or other outdoor sports, layering is key!

(And I must say you're up either very late or very early there in Kansas!)

And those disposable surgical gloves under your normal gloves to keep wind off...

Tru dat! It's 55°F (13°C) and rainning. I'm busting out the Latex this AM.

Generally speaking I ride up Mission everyday(50-55 degrees F) to the Financial District. I can't do 280 until I actually get my license Razz emoticon I'm being cheap and just taking the DMV skills test instead of the course.

The Corazzo Max DEFINITELY had long enough sleeves, but I didn't feel as protected in it. I'll have to try on another XL. I've got to hit up SFSC tomorrow to pick up a new visor.

Thanks for the recommendations!
