Modern Vespa

Does anybody know the width of the disk brake on the GTS? There seems to be two widths, a shorter and longer distance. I drewa red line that shows the shorter distance - anybody know what the measurement is?

I'm trying to buy a lock and I want to make sure that the lock will actually fit on this area!

My brotha this is the disk lock I use, once you figure out which model to use, you can find it else where on line.

The can be a little too sensitive if set in the wrong place.

I thought you purchased a Xena? Your posts in this thread seem to indicate so. Mine works just fine on my GTS. Use it often when the situation calls for it.

I don't know the distance off hand, but I can tell you that the disc lock made by Bell (the helmet people) does not fit. I filed away some of the Bell lock to make it fit. I don't think what I removed has affected the integrity at all. Part of the casing was bumping into part of the brake stuff, so it didn't have enough reach to set the locking pin in the brake disc. Now it is fine and easy to use.

Yep, I did, but my friend jacked it from me, or as she says, "long term borrow" (there is history between us, don't ask )

Anyway, reason why I was asking - I was planning to get a Xena lock and chain combo so I could use it with my PX and GTS. Depending on the dimensions of the disk brake on the GTS, I could also theoretically use the lock as a disk lock on the GTS as well, although it doesn't fit as nice as the locks specifically for the disc brakes.

I just wasn't sure if the XPL69 (pictured above) was long enough to fit the GTS brake. However, I decided to get the XUL102 and chain combo from the Xena guy, and that lock is big enough to fit the GTS brake no problem. The XUL is much bigger:

On the Xena site there is template you can print out. Hold it against your disc and it will show the Xena locks that fit.

Don't have my GTS with me! It's in winter hibernation!
