I'll agree with his assertion that VNB Cushman vespas were 100% italian made, and specifically American, like Allstates... but not suffering from being detuned like an allstate.

That said, $8500 for a VNB, in ANY condition, sounds like one of the biggest scooter ripoffs i've ever heard. Hell, $3000 sounds crazy to me. This is the problem with taking a relatively common model down to nothing and then trying to recoup the money you've spent on it.

It is too expensive for me too, but I bet it sells for close to that. Supply and demand...

We shall see.

There's no difference between a regular VNB and a Cushman VNB, besides that little badge.

Kinda a provenance/collector thing though. Granted it's only a badge, and granted it's not a straight 100% resto from a true collectors standpoint. But, the fact it's a Cushman makes it just a little more interesting than your average VNB.

I know.

I restored one a couple years back as a raffle giveway at our rally. This exact same model bike ...

1) Finishing the SS180. I ran out of funds, so it's sitting there waiting on the finished seat from pirate upholstery, a cylinder to be bored out for it, and a few parts to be shipped in ( the OG legshield trim ).

2) The GS160 is blasted, silver parts have been sprayed, and body work is going on on it.

3) My g-friend's lambretta had an engine issue at the end of a long rally ride 2 weeks ago, so it's up on the workbench right now.

4) I have a clubmate's bike to start on when the g-friend's lambretta and my SS180 get done.

5) My Jet200's carb needs some slight tuning.

The sun is going down at like 7pm, and it's getting really cold outside at night, so i'm having trouble motivating myself right now into working on bikes. I'll get a second wind here soon ...

Shit man... I guess the better question would have been what are you not working on. Looking forward to seeing some pics when you get done.

I've got a bunch of scooters that I would accept $8500 for.
