Modern Vespa

Hello every one.
As I have mentioned in a previous post, I have a 1961 Allstate, which is comparable to the VNB1T Vespa. I am rebuilding the motor at this time and have the old Dell'Orto UA 16 SI carburetor. It too is in many pieces and I was told it is near to impossible to get rebuild kits and bits. I have been offered a Spaco SI 20, labled P1054. Does anyone know if this is compatable to my VNA1M stamped, piston port 125?

If a complete carb for that engine is worth something to you, i might have a hookup.

David... did you check with Eurocarb Ltd.? - www.dellorto.co.uk ?? I'd be surprised if they couldn't help you. You may have to contact them directly because they often have stuff not listed on the site.

And just to let every one know why I ask so many questions, this is my first vespa. I am learning as I go, so thank you for your patience.

Well, I sat down and looked at all the pieces.
I have these in the pictures, but I don't have a schematic to know what is missing. Can anyone help? Does this look usable?

No air box or rubber piece that goes through the body to get fresh air...
I think I can find those at scooterworks or scooterpartsdirect.com....
Any specific way to make sure it's in workable condition before I buy an other one?

HI Guys,

I also am new to vespa and have almost completed a resto on a bike that sounds much like the one I the thread, also struggling with the Carb as when I turn the fuel on the carb just overflows immediately, would like to see a diagram of carb or know of a direct replacement (new) or a used float chamber with innards.ps, based in UK.

That carb is so touchy and finicky. Best bet is to do a total rebuild and leave it soaking in some gas or carb cleaner to clean out the jets and any crevices that might have build up.

Great info. Thanks very much. Funnily enough, I was standing in the queue in my local lambretta store and a guy said to me I have one of those and gave me it gratis!

Hi, I just acquired a VNA from 1960
, vespa Allstate.

It seams I have the same problem.
Would you have the steps to clean and make sure the pieces are here?
