I finally got my adjustable windshield from F1. I guess some of you are curious about how it worked, like I was, so I'm posting pictures. Unfortunately, I won't be able to get it installed on my bike until this weekend. I'll add some shots of it installed later.

The extension raises the windshield approximately 5.5" above the lowered height. The extension part that came in was "smoke" colored, like the base windshield. I think clear might be better for the extension but I'll make a final judgment after giving it a test ride.

Apologies if the pics seem out of order. I never get how to load them.

Hmmm...does it appear to be the F1 solid screen
just like the one you had, except with an extension on it?
That is what it looks like from the photos.

I haven't put it side by side with my other windshield but it looks like it is the same with the extension added. I should have added that the extension works very easily to move and lock. I do want to try it on some highway speeds both extended and down to see how well the extension functions. I also want to see how I like looking through the smoke when extended.

I will be curious how this works out. When I recently
tried the F1 one piece screen, I felt it stuck back toward
the rider a bit more than I liked. Hard to imagine the extension
coming back toward you even more, at least assuming
it is at the same trajectory as the one I had.
We await your conclusions, and photos!
P.S. Load the photos in a backward progression, and I think
they will come out the other way round, in the right order.

This finaly shows how the "slide" works.
I would think just 1 lock, to be handled with the left hand would make it perfect. You would be able to adjust while riding. Electric would even be better of course.
I am very curious how the screen for the 400/250 turns out.
I realy hope I get it soon

Hi Jerry;

Just so you know, there are a bunch of us waiting to see this installed with good pictures from the front and side (esp. with a rider on board).

We're all holding our breath...

When Marcel first announced he was making a slider he did say the angle of attack would be changed to give a little clearance for the slide to not hit your helmet. I would guess it is just a few degrees steeper.

The base of the extension windshield seems to be exactly the same as my standard windshield.

Rob in Denver pointed out his problem with the slant of the F1 coming back too close to his face. I didn't feel this was a problem with the standard windshield because of several things:
1. I'm just under 5' 6" and the windshield is shorter for me and if I pitch forward in the seat the edge of the windshield would hit the top of my helmet. Rob is taller.
2. Rob witnessed an accident in his riding group that made him more aware of the dangers of an accident.
3. I always wear a full face helmet and Rob wears a 3/4 on short trips.

After an exchange of messages with him I went back and reevaluated things. I can see that the angle could be a problem, particularly for a taller rider. The added 5.5" of extension might create a problem for me. The extension windshield is fine for the Pan Am, I think, because the Pan Am base is more upright. The Piaggio mini diverter angle is laid back. I plan to talk to Marcel about that this week and ask if the MP3 shield could be cast with a wedge at the bottom that would allow the F1 to sit above the diverter but rise at a more upright angle. I think it would be a better design.

If I had not received the adjustable, I had planned to use a heat gun to raise the lip on the standard windshield (as shown on the video posted on another thread). The standard windshield works fine for me but I think raising it as shown on their video would improve it.

One of the things I like about the F1 is that it does not require extra hardware. The windshield is made of a very strong material and, following the angle and using the bolt attachments of the mini diverter, is very stable. I do not know if adding a wedge or changing the angle would put such additional stress on the areas of attachment that additional hardware would be required. I will try to discuss this with Marcel also.
