Hey all, I just signed up and am a bit new to Modern Vespa.
I just got a 2003 Kymco People 50, only about 1200 miles, its in KM though lol, kinda cool, worked fine for the first week. When I first started it it had trouble, and would start and die in a split second, then it would start and die, then go. Over the past month it has gotten worse and now it takes a good couple minutes to actually start and keep running, I dont know crap about scooters or motorcycles in general and would love any help anyone could give me. I am afraid one day I am going to go out there and its just not going to start. The push button on it always works and it will start up but then die instantly, i dont know if that helps or not. Thanks a ton for any help or advice you guys can give!

No insight, unfortunately. But I'm having the same problem with my 2005 People 50. Just started about a month ago, and I have to start it sometimes a half-dozen times before I can give it enough gas to rev high without stalling. ... I'm over 6,000 km, and this is the first real problem I've had with it.
I don't know jack about mechanics, but I thought there's a problem with the choke (?).
Anyone have any ideas?

I took it in to a shop and he said it is the CDI Box, which is the elextrical ignition basically. Cost me about 75 bucks for the part, plus labor and all that. I guess it is supposedly a really common problem with scooters, or this type anyway.

There is a forum dedicated t Kymco owners.
http://www.kymcoforum.com/index.php
You're welcome to post here since some members also own Kymco. However, you will probably get more specific help over there.
Hope that you get the problems solved.
