Hi all,

I've read this post How do i attach a tomtom rider to my LX125? and whilst there are some great replies none of them address the issue of having a skirt fitted like I do which basically means that I can't use the under dash suction fitting. Additionally, I don't have chrome mirror stands but the black curved type and these are then covered in winter mitts. I do though have a full vespa windscreen.

Any suggestions on mounting a Tom Tom Go?

Cheers
Darren

nice but crude idea. I wanted something a little more befitting of a Vespa though. RAM mounts springs to mind but not sure if their clamps can clamp on to the thin windscreen railings (a) and (b) how much the tomtom would bounce around!

i tried ordering a ram mount and then cancelled the order as i didn't want another bit of kit dangling off the front of the scooter - the windscreen post is the only possible place i can think of to mount it and i really didn't like that idea much. plus the ram mount for my (cheapo) GPS would've cost a bomb.

in the end i bought a tiny crumpler bag and i wear the unit slung over my shoulder. i don't bother looking at the screen, the verbal directions are just fine. it all packs up nicely in the bag (headphones, charging socket, the lot) when i'm finished riding, and there's no mounting hardware cluttering up the front of the scooter. more important there is nothing left on the scoot to suggest to would-be thieves that there might be a GPS in the top box or the pet carrier.

Oooh bad ass...they have a mount for the iPhone 3G. That is amazingly sweet.

Ive got a TomTom 920 GO for the car, but the iPhone would be perfect on the Vespa. Add a knee pad cig charger and you've got a kick ass GPS unit.

The RAM Mounts work very well on the wind screen supports. We used the scooter mount Base 231ZU and Adapter RAP 319U
