Hey Guys-

So last night, in an attempt to make my LX150 stop shuddering on takeoff, I noticed something that wasn't quite right before I started to take a look at the clutch.

First, there was some wear on the engine case and variator, as if the two parts had at some point rubbed together. You can see the variator here: External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text

It doesn't look like the problem is too bad, as the scuffing hasn't encompassed the entire surface of the variator, but still... what gives? Has anyone else seen this before? Could this be a source of the shuddering, or is this an entirely different problem that is separate from the glazed clutch?

Thanks!

I am no expert but I read this article...i think it may be related. the last thread in the post is the more relevant I think (it references "polishing" off the clutch bell/drum.

I am definitely looking into the clutch as being the culprit, this was just something tangential I noticed as I was looking over the transmission. Thanks for the reply, though!
