I would like to purchase a XEON halogen H4 bulb that is 100w high beam and 90w regular beam. This is more than the stock 65w/55w. With this increase in power draw, will I see noticeable changes and decreases in power and kick?

I can't imagine why, but would be interested in learning if it is the case.

I don't know Vespa's, does it have a plastic lens or housing? If not you will be fine.

I believe xenon bulbs, although brighter, actually draw less power than the standard halogen bulb. Either way it will not affect the power when you ride your scooter.

No personal experience, but other MVers have posted pictures of problems, not specifically with the S though, and perhaps a different bulb...

One picture was of a melted lens, another was of a charred harness/connection to bulb. I'll see if I can find the pictures, but they were quite a while ago.

cheers

Some stories, but no pics that I can find. Have you considered the HID kit from Motorsports? It's supposed to be cool enough.

Look here:

And a link on MV here;

HID headlight

cheers

You would be taking a huge chance that you might overload the wiring and start an electrical fire that could cost a bunch of $$$$ to repair..............or worse, you could burn up your scooter. I've read about people doing this on motorcycles (several times) and resulting in an electrical fire. There is a HID headlight kit that several people have installed that apparently works well with no side effects. Whatever you do: Don't just plug a 100 watt bulb in your present socket.
