Assuming everything is the same as on an ET, on your rack there should be a screw in the middle. When you remove it the hole it leaves is what the topcase screws onto. You should have a screw with your topcase that has a ring on the top (to allow you to turn it with your fingers). If you don't, I imagine you could get one from the shop or use a regular screw with the correct threading. Open your topcase, center the hole on the bottom of the case over the hole on the rear rack, and tighten the special screw down through to pin the topcase to the rack.
the gts is a little different. With the rack down, you will see two chrome plugs on both ends of one of the bars. Pull those plugs out and that's where you screw into. You'll have to make two holes in your topcase but then you're set.
I don't mean to rude but you are both wrong. The GTS specific topcase should come with a special bracket. This bracket when applied is designed to hold down the rack while at the same time providing a place for top case to bolt on to. Essentially with the brack mirrors the way the GT200 topcase work in that the topcase should slide onto the bracket with groves under the case and then there is a large bolt that goes through the center of the topcase and into the bracket. If you didn't get the bracket take it back because it does not work for the GTS without it. Once you get the bracket you will see what I mean.
You will need a specific bracket It comes with the topcase being your topcase was used. I suggest you find that topcase bracket on ebay or craigslist. You will need that bracket for install
You will need it to securely fasten the topcase to your bike.
Once you get it should take about 30 minutes to install. easy shmeezie.
