Took a ride the other day on a dirt road, about mile and half. Parts of the road were deeply rutted and I was careful to minimize the shaking but now I have a very small coolant leak coming from under the engine. I've read other posts concerning leaks that occurred at hose clamp connections. Looking at the shop manual I found coolant inlet and outlet pipe connections. Could this be the potential problem area? Also is there any way to check connections from under the seat or another easy access point? My coolant level is within the correct range and mileage is just shy of 4k.

Thanks,
Lynn

Leak
I had the same weird problem with my 06 GTS. All over a sudden it started to have a small leak under the glove box on the leg guard.

Took it to SF Scooter Centre, they pressurized tested it and couldn't find a leak. Damn Vespas Razz emoticon

My '09 250 Super had a leak (and temp prob) attributed to the the thermostat. If the water seems to be coming from around the engine cylinder head it may be the thermo or a loose hose clamp.

Good luck with the leak.

Could there have been too much coolant in the system? Was the reservoir filled above the line? I found drips of coolant just below the right side of the glove box and on the foot board after it was service at the dealership this past spring. The coolant had been topped off a bit too much, and it escaped through black cap atop the reservoir. I believe the cap is designed to relieve overflow. If so, the coolant had exit the cap, flowed to the bottom of the knee pad and then landed on the floor board as I rode just a few miles from the dealership. I pulled off the road and wiped up the light green, sweet smelling coolant. The drips and drops appeared again that day, which led me to check the level of the coolant and remove the excess from the reservoir until it was at a proper level. The drips did not appear again.

Best way to find this little pest is to have your dealer remove the glove box and floorboard to follow all the coolant lines. It is usually one clamp leaking and a very simple replacement fix.

Best,

I've just noticed that I am having this problem. I thought it was oil but then I put some white paper under to catch the drips and it is bright blue. One question.... Is this collant corrosive to paint at all like brake fluid?

I don't believe so. When Mirella had a blown fuse and her GTS overheated, her coolant overflowed from her front legshield all over her GTS. The paint was fine despite our not being able to clean it off her scooter in a timely fashion.
