They do motorcycles (need EFI otherwise its alot of carb work).

This is a piggyback fuel management system. Nothing else. So it works on 100% ethanol (whether grass, corn, sugar or booze), 100% gas, or any blend in between.

Not that I've heard of....

As an aside, I was sitting behind a MkIV Jetta TDi in traffic last night that had been converted to biodiesel, and it had a bumper sticker that cracked me up.

I want to convert one of my primary transportation vehicles to run on something that is sold at a convenient 1900 gas stations.

The closest E85 gas station is 60+ miles away round trip; so filling up my GTS will cause me to use about half of my total fuel capacity. I guess I'll spend a bunch of money on those California approved portable gas can, which are expensive and spill as much gas as you pour in, and then transport them in my car. I'll then go to the city and learn what local zoning laws and permits will be needed. Then I'll get to deal with my Home Owners Association to see of I'm in violation of the CC&R's by storing quantities of hazardous liquids in a residential area.

Another benefit of E85 is that it has less energy, so I'm going to loose between 5 and 20% fuel economy - great idea, especially since I'm riding half a tank of gas to fill up!

I guess that's better than methane from rainbow ponies though.

FYI: There are as many McDonald's in Canada as there are E85 filling stations in the entire US; there are about 170,000 real gas stations in the US.

By the way, I love how the linked website has stereotyped oil producers - maybe they can stereotype and generalize other groups into cartoons for dry cleaners, gardeners, and accountants too?

^^^it's a good thing it can still run on gas then...

BioFuels are still sort of new (I know the aren't actually new) so the availability isn't that great and the production of it isn't that cost effective/efficient yet.

However, once they are mass produced with something other than corn (like sugar beets and/or algae) it will be a good thing for us.

And isn't that Rainbow Star Ponies?

I think there is like one (1) E85 station in Alabama. Not worth the conversion.

Yeah I converted mine
I converted my mojito to run on e95. Although e85 would have been better(cold starts are a bitch). All you have to do is get a new set of jets and drill them out 20-30% bigger. Start with 20 then work your way up. You will not find a drill small enough to do the pilot jet, so I used a mig welder tip cleaning tool. You also have to play with the mixture screws a little. I put 2000 miles on e95 with no problems. Got about 50mpg compared to 65 on gas. Then I switched to pure alcohol 180 proof. That was a mistake, don't do it. water+alcohol+alumium=jello-filled-carb. I am working on getting the water out of my alcohol so I can switch back, gasoline blows!!! More power and higher top speed on booze!!!

Does anyone know offhand whether a GTS's injector matches any of those listed on their site?

Well,
There's nothing to convert on a diesel car. You can just fill it up with bio.
As for a carbed scooter, converting is tricky with the jetting as mentioned earlier, and once you switch, you can't go back unless you re-jet. So carbed machines are not really flex fuel, they are one or the other.

As for EFI machines, you really can mix it up. I wanted to know about lean running (probably not much of an issue on a CVT because the revs are not way up high). This way you can run gas, ethanol (any source), or anything in between. Remember E100 is like 120 octane, with E85 being around 105. I wonder if you can get more power this way - cars usually report some power gains.

If you don't have a station nearby, just get one for yourself:

runs on sugar, or even booze

Why bother with all this mess?

Just get a diesel or E85 cage and use whatever fuel you want. I'll stick with the normal stuff for my scooter and now my cage, since I have a new career and can't carry my tools on my scooter.

Er....aside from a large size pickup, a Toureg or Jetta, or E class Benz what diesel would you purchase?
And flex-fuel vehicles are solely some chevy, all saab, some ford, and assorted dodge vehicles. Not exactly swimming in choices.
The point here, is you can convert any vehicle for the cost of a nice helmet, and then you have the option of putting any ethanol blend in your tank should you find the urge.

There's also this little known gem: http://www.greencar.com/features/features34/

I've got one and love it, absolutely love it. I consistently get better mileage than the EPA estimates... 32mpg at 64mph. Over 600 freeway miles on one tank...

but yeah, I'd like to do the conversion. Maybe to the MP3 once it's done being a rental.
