I want to convert one of my primary transportation vehicles to run on something that is sold at a convenient 1900 gas stations.
The closest E85 gas station is 60+ miles away round trip; so filling up my GTS will cause me to use about half of my total fuel capacity. I guess I'll spend a bunch of money on those California approved portable gas can, which are expensive and spill as much gas as you pour in, and then transport them in my car. I'll then go to the city and learn what local zoning laws and permits will be needed. Then I'll get to deal with my Home Owners Association to see of I'm in violation of the CC&R's by storing quantities of hazardous liquids in a residential area.
Another benefit of E85 is that it has less energy, so I'm going to loose between 5 and 20% fuel economy - great idea, especially since I'm riding half a tank of gas to fill up!
I guess that's better than methane from rainbow ponies though.
FYI: There are as many McDonald's in Canada as there are E85 filling stations in the entire US; there are about 170,000 real gas stations in the US.
By the way, I love how the linked website has stereotyped oil producers - maybe they can stereotype and generalize other groups into cartoons for dry cleaners, gardeners, and accountants too?
