Man!! I am not a happy camper. Crying or Very sad emoticon

NOTE TO ALL: If installing rear crash bars and the LV pipe,
Make sure you put the screw in the up position, not down.
As you can see the results when the end of the threaded screws meets
The LV muffler. (Such as when going over RR tracks).

Any ideas as to how I can clean up the scratches on the LV muffler.
I guess I will have to live with the small dent in it.

Don't fret, mine is much worse now. I have the head of the bolt facing downwards and still I have a much worse dent than your LV pipe has. This is despite the suspension being set to the highest setting. The dents have occurred when hitting bad potholes which we have plenty of this year. Crying or Very sad emoticon

Hey Benito,

Glad to hear I am not the only one, but
I am still not happy about it.

My shocks are set at the #3 setting.
Will have to bump them up to #4.

Did your LV pipe smoke and stink for awhile
after you installed it?

If so how long does it take to burn off?

O yea,

I was able to buff the scratches out with
my Dremmel and buffing compound.

Only problem is, now I have a small round
spot that shines like highly polished chrome. Crying or Very sad emoticon

be real cool if the whole pipe looked like that.

Yup, the pipe smoked and stunk as it burned off various chemicals I assume from within. I don't recall how long that lasted, maybe I didn't smell them because I was riding really fast and the odours couldn't keep up. Laughing emoticon No I'm not happy with the dent, but I try not to think about it. The sound of the pipe still makes me smile every time I give it a bit of throttle.

Mike: If you really want crashbars and stop future hits, you may want to try a set made by Vespa. Of course, this means dropping more money ($285). My bars don't have that dreaded bolt and it seems to clear the pipe. Riding through our finely manicured streets in SF hasn't been a problem. They don't have it listed now, but it comes up frequently so check the link if you're interested.

Mike, sorry to hear of the mishap. Hope you get it solved. Btw, how do you like the performance of the pipe, and the sound?

Thanks for the info.
I think the problem has been rectified. (much faith here 8) )
I fliped the screw so the head is facing down.
I then epoxied a soft rubber bumper cap onto the screw head.
If I have to I will set the shocks to the #4 setting.

I have not noticed any increase nor decrease in performance.
The newness of the pipe is still burning off.

The reason I purchased the LV pipe and Corsa is they are
"Advertised" to give an increase of fuel mileage and HP.
If I find this not to be true, both items will be removed and
Sent back to Motorsport Scooters.

As for the sound issue, I am the wrong person to ask.
I have been a HD rider that used after market pipes for along time.
IMHO there is nothing on this planet that can get even close to
that sound. 8)
