For the experts...

Please give this auction a once over.

http://niagara.en.craigslist.ca/mcy/833015316.html

I'm considering this for my girlfriend, and to possibly tinker with for a beginner 'vintage' to have in addition to my modern. I have little personal experience with them, but if I could get the price down a bit I'd consider it.

Just a couple of questions...

Is this an original color?

Any bodge-ness that you can see from the pictures?

Problems, or anything missing that you can tell from the pictures?

I've contacted the person to ask what's wrong with it, but they claim there are '"no problems".

Is there anything I should be weary of with this model?

Any questions I should specifically ask to probe for issues?

What's the average top speed of this model?

Parts availability still alright?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the 100 questions.

Weird...

Must still be in my cache then...

It was up on craigslist for at least 3 or 4 months until yesterday (with a price drop), he must have finally found a buyer.

I'm not able to upload pictures on this thing am I (because I have them)?

Listing read as follows:

1978 Vespa 125 primavera. Small frame Italian import. Complete top to bottom rebuild. Drives and runs great. Plated with ontario ownership. $2250 Firm.

I think that was one that I went to check out back in the summer. It was in decent ride-able shape. I wasn't crazy about the colour, and I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the original paint.

One of the bolt flanges was broken off the case - close to the shifter cover, and he'd wired the shift linkage backwards - 'cause that's the way he liked it.

The seller claimed fully-restored, by himself - he's got a collection of 2 wheelers. Had it safetied at Totally Scooters in Toronto I think.

Personally, I wasn't that interested. I think I'm just to big for a small frame.
