Hey everyone,
So I've had my Fly 50 for about a month now and its run great so far. I've put 150 miles on it leaving it at 550 miles on the odo. It is a year old and hasn't had a service yet, but my concern is that the battery might be dying? I'm really unsure of what the symptoms are because it cranks and starts up alright. It used to really only take 2 cranks to start up when cold, now it takes at least like 5. Also all the electronics dim out when it idles, but upon revving the motor a tad, the lights all brighten up. Does anyone know what is the issue? Is it the battery? The scooter is a tad over 1 year old. I am planning on taking it to get serviced soon and I will ask them to check it out but I would really like some feedback from MV if at all possible.

Second, do you guys know what the first service would be? Especially since it is 1 year old now....

Thanks guys
Ben

First service is due right now. Ask for the battery and charging system to be given particular attention, then you'll know it's OK.

I'm not sure about the multiple cranks to get it started. But my old Scarabeo had the same issue of things dimming a bit when idling, or not on the throttle. I found out that basically, it's because the lights were running more off the engine than the battery. My headlight was stupidly dim when I had to coast down a hill. Rather scary at night.

I think it's rather common with 2-strokes, but I don't believe I've heard of it on a 4-stroke scoot. I suppose it's possible, though, so I'm throwing the idea out there.
