ZIMA has been discontinued by MillerCoors LLC... They say that they quantity that is already produced should last through the end of the year.

If some of you really like it, it could be like "old" Coke/New Coke introduction when people were buying pick-up truck loads of the "old" Coke.

Personally, ZIMA was one of the first alcoholic drinks I ever had. Though I haven't had it in years, I might pick up a case for nostalgia's sake (alcoholic beverages are typically sold by the case here in Pennsylvania).

A strange brew?

But apparently a party favourite of Tom Cruise.

I drank it a lot my first two years of college.

Same price as Budweiser, twice the content.

I may have looked a like an idiot drinking it in the dives of Boston I frequented, but I was getting twice as drunk for half the price.

When I read 'Zima' I thought you meant 'the Yamaha 'Zuma'. Laughing emoticon

It's a malt beverage I think.

"Zima offered an alternative to the then-successful wine cooler category, and it became faddishly popular. The fact that Zima was a malt-based beverage gave it an advantage over wine coolers in many American markets, since many locations in the U.S. allow beer to be sold in convenience stores and supermarkets, while wine-based beverages can only legally be sold in liquor stores-even if they have an alcohol content comparable to a bottle of beer."

Wouldn't it need to be four times as strong to make this a true statement?

My alcohol calculator says yes.

I think sallad got either:
(A) Twice as drunk for the same price
(B) Just as drunk for half the price.

Possibility:
(C) Had a friend who bought him every other round.

I tried this a couple times - didn't think it was too bad.

Remember Crystal Pepsi and salsa doritos (bigger chips than they have today). I cried when they decided to discontinue these.

I've seen salsa doritos recently, I think.

Might be a regional thing.

I used to drink it, but it gave me horrible headaches the next day. I haven't had one since 1994, I'm sure.

Goodbye, Zima.
