yar let's have another meet up .... i guess this calls for another 18-page thread! woooooo!!

can we meet somewhere less in the back of beyond this time? or perhaps a wee ride out if this fine autumn continues - a pint of weak shandy and a sunday lunch somewhere in the wilds of kent would go down very well, and we could take the scenic route so all could keep up. now that i'm wired for global positioning we can find our way ANYWHERE! *stirring music*

East Surrey/West kent, anywhere SE?

I guess it depends on the distances and times involved. For instance from West London I'm having lunch in Dungeness tomorrow - but for our ride perhaps a smaller excursion?

There's the Halfway House - http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/19/19248/Halfway_House/Brenchley

I know some excellent roads to there, nothing too swift, and virtually no traffic.

Saturday or Sunday boys and girls?

This may look daft on MV to onlookers, but a meet at Pratt's Bottom might be appropriate?

I know exactly where Pratt's Bottom is. Knowing our luck though it will be a day like today, when we arrange the ride.

I like the idea of a pub lunch and a pint of something weak

Another question is when will Bill have his scoot? I don't know what is taking him so long....

but jim has chosen a 50cc-friendly route! especially for you and shirley!!

but i do like the idea of two luncheons - we can hold a central lunch regardless of the weather, so yes please do take charge of that and select some nice pubs for us. nothing in poncey primrose hill tho

say n'more sir, say n'more *hard nudge in ribs, wink wink wink*

it looks like two luncheons are in the offing - a central and a less-central, so as to accommodate everyone. i'm as happy to lunch in pratt's bottom as i am to patronize a central london gastro-teria.

perhaps we should wait for bill to chime in before we schedule the trip to pratt's bum?

i like the idea of a ride in the country followed by a pint and sunday lunch. isn't that what scooters are for?

not so sure about the wisdom of organising 2 lunches bearing in mind how difficult we seem to find it to arrange just one outing!

jim's suggested pub looks great and should be cosy enough, so we can all warm up before the ride home.

any suggested dates? those weekends seem to be getting booked up fast...

No I'm free on every day on that list but so far I quite like the 14th of Nov.
It's got a nice ring to it. Howabout a meet in the South East in the next couple of months then in the New Year we keep the London types happy with a "smoke" based meet ? Just to be fair ?
When and however we meet again I'm sure it will be a pleasure.
If the Brenchley idea gets the go I know a GT250 owner who will make up the numbers.
Stay in touch you crazy kids

ROFL emoticon I did wonder.

15th or 16th Nov fine by me.

Suggestion - London MVers meet at Pratts Bottom Esso garage for 11:00 start, 28 mile ride to Brenchley via Ide Hill and Penshurst, meet with the Kent mob at the Halfway House for lunch, ride back via Yalding and a stop at Eynsford for tea/whatever.

Ride to go ahead only if weather forecast is OK - I don't mind rain personally (did 200 miles in it today!) - but I'm aware that others may not be so happy.

OK, central Pub next - Dessa?

Jim, is this 50cc friendly?

right, pub, don't fret folks, I'll be armed with suggestions in due course!
we want to be central so everyone can join, but I will avoid Westminster, unless it's a Sunday?
what do we say?
sunday is nice too?
alright, alright, I'll offer a few options shortly!! (the pressure is on!!!)

Yes, 50cc friendly - it'll be a long ride for a 50cc - but if you are up for it it's all yours. For those who can, riding fast can be done anytime - for those who can't go so fast, a jaunt in the country can be very refreshing.

I'm thinking I'll be leading, so if you ride number two behind me I can pace myself to you very easily, no pressure, enjoyment is what it's about.

that sounds brilliant jim. i'm in! as long as it's not chucking down hail or sleet or buckets of rain, i don't mind a bit of precipitation either

p.s. dessa, my upstairs neighbour often rides his 50cc to cambridge with his girlfriend on the back - shirley will be fine

I hope I can come - I'm very near Pratts Bottom, so it would be a shame to miss it.

My mum is moving house some time around then so I may be called upon to help out in Dorset one of those weekends. Fingers crossed it will be the 22nd/23rd rather than the 15th/16th.

mmm... i have been watching the developments of this thread with great interest and i have come to this conclusion.

I would probably be able to make it but obviously would only be able to meet yous lot at the afforementioned pub in Brenchley, seeing as i aint riding all the way up that London, then to Brenchley then back home cos it a longish old way for a day trip and it'll be a bit on the parkie side. (eventhough i've just ordered a pair of fur lined gortex german army issue mountain trousers to help try to keep me toastie warm)

So...

i shall say yes for now, i will then mull it over for a few weeks and then eventually pull out at the last minute as per usuall.

BTW good luck on trying to keep this thread under 3 pages Laughing emoticon
