we have a winner!! yep, that's it. back in 1965, a bloke by the name of Moore plotted a bit of data he'd been collecting since silicon chips were invented (in 1959) and was surprised to find a fairly straightfoward relationship between elapsed time, and the number of transistors that could be fit on a chip. that number doubles roughly every 18 months, and has continued to do so for 43 years.

The ride was great, I had the local press photographer as pillion. It is very good fun indeed to ride through Central London, sometimes at some speed, while ignoring all red lights and pedestrian crossings!

For those more south-easterly, there's another run next Saturday 20th, from Croydon Fire station to Tadworth Court Children's Trust. 10:00 start, Police blue-light escort there and back. I won't be on that one, I'll be at a mega-piss-up.

Border is fine and dandy guys and gals.... I too have not been out on the scoot for a couple of weeks myself , I just haven't had the time and when I have had an hour spare its been pouring down. Work has been extemely busy but I finish on Friday for a full two week break...... yihaaaaaa , so intend to do some riding .

edit: have just learned that it means 'donkey jump' in croatian, slovenian, serbian, polish and slovak as well.

Back on topic; you can get replacement donkey dicks or even stand-alone ones that you can hook to your spreader bar .......I'm only using one of the itsy bitsy GK ones with my '08 Naish 'Shift' bar and i find that if i want to be doubly sure it's not coming out i slip the donkey dick through the front hole on my hook then up through the rear hole. Locks it in there nicely!"

Good news indeedy! I've broken it to the little one that next year she'll be going on a ferry, just like her big brother Nexus was always bragging about.

It's going to be like The Partridge Family when we go away and there's still 3 months to go.

i saw it on our last rideout and got the stunnation all out of my system at that point. it is indeed dandy

i can fit just about everything i need in the topcase and underseat storage. will save some space on the seat behind me for some cheese and wine, and of course the shoes.

it's blowing a bloody huge blizzard here i couldn't be more delighted, will try and post some pics ... have just taken my mum's car out for a mad drive around the backroads to make sure that her new snow tyres are working properly (they are).

Genie eventhough you are miles away in Newfoundland it seems like nothing has changed. It feels like you are just next door.

My elder son arrived back in Blighty late last night having just left the British Army. Four years very well spent, new job lined up, gorgeous g/f about to be proposed to, great fun ahead.

He used to ride scooters, I don't know if I'll get him doing so again, he's just bought a Range Rover Sport - supercharged! A bloody Chelsea Tractor! It's a lovely car though, real 'Gangsta' wheels. I suppose these things have to be got out of the system, better sooner than later.

Just pleased he's back over here, with no more worries about where he might get posted.

OK, as you were, back to the normal drivel.

holiday is lovely ... neighbours turned up with a plate of home made goodies to welcome me back, then one brother turned up to proffer the annual 3x christmas dinner/drinks/luncheon invitations ... we encountered bro #2 at the 'opera movies' this afternoon, and secured two more dinner invitations. i'd be just a bit more pleased about all this if mum wasn't hands down the best cook in the family, but brother #1 lives only 5 minutes up the road and keeps a very well stocked booze cabinet, and bro #2 makes his own smoked salmon and moose pate - so going over to theirs will be bearable [*saintly expression*]

visited the 'vespa dealership' in st john's today ... two S150s, an aprilia something, and a very sporty looking derbi, all sitting in the front window of a snowboard shop. very pretty vespas, but i'm not betting the farm on their after-sales service.

except that little flat spot down the end of the road is the atlantic ocean

It was riding above 70mph on the road between paddock wood and tunbridge wells m'lud when I saw something silver fly off the horn cover and then ping off the road to my left and when I arrived at my destination my piaggio badge was missing.

Alright in that regard it is in no way like Colorado, Utah or Wyoming for all of them are land locked. Arse.
