Regards Billy-no-scoot I did go back and get myself that deal, 15 per cent off in the end. Which is probably not amazing but better than a kick in the teeth. And they threw in some furry blanket thing too. |

plea from the cheap seats
Wonder please don't get the 300 painted red. Black is the new black and it's going to look so much sexier left in standard trim.
Plus from a re sale point of view it will be worth less because of a non standard paint job. It makes the future buyer ask the question - why was it painted ? Was it a crash repair ? We all know how good Spiders paint jobs are but it will never beat a factory finish. If it was mine I'd leave it alone just the way Mr Piaggio made it. Regards Billy-no-scoot |

and congratulations kate!! .... and dessa, and me, and alice.... why have all the women bought new scooters literally within weeks of each other? and at fairly regular intervals of a week, apart from a break for the christmas holiday? this is getting weird ladies in fact it strikes me as so singular that i'm about to start up a thread in the 'rallies and events' section - yes you heard me right - proposing a little rideout in honor of the occasion ... |

kick me out of the thread if you like, I won't be offended, but mac users: my eject key on keyboard is not ejecting, I have to move the icon to the bin to eject, searched apple website and couldn't find an answer..
then - is there some sort of bluetooth usb device I can connect my printer to (which is in another room) so I can send documents to print there wirelessly? sorry, I know it's random but I know quite a lot of you are computer wizzes and I ain't lastly before I do actually get kicked out - my chain or no chain at all fit the back wheel of the LX... I'm gutted as the ground anchor is at the back where my back wheel goes. So now my Velma just has the chain on the front wheel, chained to nothing. How did you guys secure your LX's? |

fit an anchor bolt on the floor if it's poured concrete (not tiles) or on the side of the house, attach a long armoured chain to that, and you can secure two scooters to the chain, each with their own shorter chain through the front or back wheel. that's the way we do it at ours with the two ETs (the interloper has a private parking space 8) ). it deters opportunists which is the best you can reasonably do.
i see you've all found the rideout thread well done |

As you know I'm off to Florida next week so you'd think that today I'd start getting my act togther for my departure so what have I just spend the morning doing ?
I've just washed all the salt and muck off the Hornet, leathered it, polished it, checked the oil, tyre pressures and coolant then gelled all the black areas (knee pads , running boards and battery panel ) and glass polished all the glass parts then put it back in the garage under a sheet. Now for the less important stuff - where's my passport. Regards Billy-no-scoot |

Spider I can't agree with you there. The finish on my GT is very good and I have no complaints about the condition or the quality of the finish - be it the laquer or the paint.

vespa made a small school boy error with the new 300 s
they brought into the country 100 new machines .. 80 black 20 white they thought the white ones were too girly .. look at the Sony PSP sales to see what i mean how many white ones have you found .. the white vespa were sold like a shot and now the dealers are left with the black ones because they dont sell as well thats why the black is going red next year if you have a black one then dont paint it because it will be worth a few quid in a few years time .. but then if you want your own colour and you want to stand out .. paint it , the colour you want |

thats what vespa thought .. the UK will love the Black 300
everyone loves the white one .. i bought one, Doug bought one .. thats what i was trying to say .. Vespa thought the Uk will love the black 300 .. but i didnt work out like that .. the dealers are giving a good deal on the rest of the black ones because most people dont like them .. when i bought mine back at the end of June last year. i phoned everyone to get my hands on a white one .. could not find one for toffee then my local dealer in margate had a black and a white one .. i bought the white one on the spot .. as i was handing over my cash two blokes walked in to buy the white one i had just bought .. and was told there are not going to be anymore untill FEB this year .. they both said they would wait .. the black one was sitting there waiting for them to take it away .. now this is my thing .. the Black vespa looked ( and i know this sounds silly) too black, the wheels were matt black instead of shinny black, i have only ever seen 0ne black vespa , but a few white on the rally scene i wish Kate all the best with her 300 .. its not the colour really its the style and the ride .. She will love it , and love it hard .... |

is that the sun out there???
I AM OFF IMMEDIATELY to take photos of my mighty Velma I didn't even want to say this but I dreamt I was going up the Finchley Rd and the front tyre blew and I dropped Velma to her side and it scratched her! it was a horrible nightmare. I had all horrible nightmares like these with Shirley too at the beginning. Shall ask my Jungian shrink what it means - it never has anything to do with the things in the dream so it will make me feel better expect some flashy photos from Velma later on! |

I present you...
Velma, the Vespa! Velma and I drove into Hamptead Heath for a rather cataloguey shoot but soon got kicked out as we were not allowed. Hence the L plate on the front mudguard is still there, we were rushed! But note "London at Velma's feet"!
:o)

A fantastic colour for the LX and it that hot pillar box red, same red as the buses, Royal Mail, telephone kiosks.... great colour. I recognised Hampstead Heath straightaway, used to live nearby myself... miss North London a lot. |
