not sure if i'll be able to make friday - i've got a really early start on saturday morning (conference).

just learned that another scooter will be joining the little parking lot in the front garden ... our upstairs neighbour is getting a small 100cc Honda and ditching his car he's going to have to park it on the same side as the interloper (who currently has a private parking space) so i'm going to have to educate him carefully on parking etiquette and the importance of not scratching my scooter.

i have to confess that i recommended that he get a Honda .... ... reliability was at the top of his list, and he had found a really good deal on a 2008 Honda something or other, still under warranty ...

As well as the shield, we have the Play Donk. If anyone knows how to a circular text in Photoshop then please, pm me. My hair is going GREY trying to learn. And I am so very very tired at the moment....

Wonder Machine - not sure if this helps but on my version of photoshop if you swipe the text when using the text tool selection and then right click it brings up the warp text option.

ah! well done.... we've given up ... apparently it can be done in Illustrator but we're still scratching our heads...

OK how this? WM I took the liberty of vectoring the logo in Illustrator (it makes it resolution independent and cleans up the lines) If you want me to email you the .EPS file i can do that so that the printer / vinyl sticker guy can use it.
If you don't like the text I can change it to whatever you want, let me know.

Very nice - though the outlined 'SCOOTER CLUB' bit would be very fragile in vinyl and be murder to 'pick out' or whatever the expression is for removing the unwanted bits. Solid there would be fine by me.

It cannot be seen in the original design, but in was intended that there was a white circle with black lettering, as christos has done. I have to learn how to use Illustrator this year, Photoshop has a lot of limitations! Vectors are currently a mystery, I just draw and scan!

Agree with jim we should fill in the scooter club bit to be black. christos, if I can do this then I will, could you send me the file?

I have a nice Primavera font, which might look good:

All the small parts (the eye, nostril, umlaut etc) may prove a bit fiddly and fragile for vinyl cutting. Think about washing your scoot and wiping a wet sponge over all those fine raised edges. It all depends on the output size of course.

I'd consider having it printed onto clear vinyl then cut to a circle. Perhaps in two colours with a contrasting outline so it works against light or dark backgrounds...

If you send me a line drawing of the proposed sticker with details of how you want the finished item to look (knock out white areas so base colour is from the scoot etc etc) i'll knock up another version in the next day or 2 with the Primi font and i'll post it up for you to have a butchers and i'll send you the .eps file if you PM me your email addy.

If you want to learn Illustrator I can sort that out for you if you like, I teach the BA students PS, Illustrator and InDesign and also do freelance tutoring to marketing companys etc and can do you for a very reasonable rate (that sounded ruder than it was meant to )

On the vinyl cutting, this was just supposed to be a black and white design rather than a clear one with black vinyl.

Stealth stickers! Didn't I see a post recently by somebody who has black reflective stickers on a black scoot? Just imagine it: nothing there until you're caught in headlights, then suddenly a massive DONKEISKOK appears!

The base colour on this is olive green cos thats the colour of my scoot

obviously your scoots will be a different colour

I've spoken to Scootgraphics to see about the cost of making up the Play Donk as a circular design.

Costs are approx:

75mm x 75mm graphic (full colour or black and white) £2.15 each or £1.90 for orders of 10.

Cheaper if we make an order for 25 or more.

If we can agree on the design this evening then I will take orders for stickers - but then this thread is soooo crazy long, can people please pm number of Donks they want to me?

ScootGraphics have also white reflecting vinyl for stickers. So a white reflecting background .....
