Thank you all for your birthday wishes - Kam,Benelli,Wonder,Huskyteer,MikeO and Mgent.
I feel quite humble. The best pressie was to learn that my ear drum isn't damaged and should be back to normal in 4 - 5 weeks. Thanks again Billy-no-scoot |

I'm grumpy today
The zip on my one-piece suit broke yesterday (I didn't think I was that porky!) and I had a very chilly and vulnerable ride home with it flapping about. I've dropped it off at the drycleaner's but they're not sure they can get a replacement zip that long. So I rode to work this morning in my leather jacket and summer (mesh!) trousers. Brr! YOYOY do I have such crummy luck with my kit?( Do not even start me on the saga of my heated jacket and its various replacement plugs.) It's not that I'm cheap - well, I am, but I've had cheap kit last for years and years while expensive stuff goes pop in weeks - and it really, really, really, really stresses me out. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. At least the sun is shining. |

You might speak to Emma if you're looking for specialist zips. Not that she's overly into bondage, but she has been recently looking for fabric/sewing shops, so that might help.
What a shame. No more New Avengers stylee suit action for the time being |

Birthday wishes thanks to Border Doug and Christos.
Poor Alice having major problems in all this awful weather. Thanks for sharing the image of you in wet under garments. Isn't it the worst feeling peeling off all of those soaking wet clothes. Nasty. Yes I'm quite chuffed that my ear is still in one piece. It seems that the pressure in the plane pushed the infection from my cold up my nose and into my ear where it found a nice place to multiply. Should be all clear in a month. Enough of my shell like problems. I hope it's going to be dry this saturday. I'm itching to get out for a ride. Regards Billy-no-scoot |

Yes I saw that programme. It was more about why we dream rather than what dreams are about. Most of the ones I've had recently have contained water or some sort. I'm sure that means something.
Thanks for the Birthday wishes Dessa. I do feel sorry for you guys and girls having to ride in this awful weather every day. You have my sympathy. |

I have to say I really like it. How did I not see the connection between water and my lug hole ? Got shite for brains me. Put it on the tab Dessa and I'll have no more talk from you or Huskyteer about damp crotches. Mainly because I can't think of a smutty joke. Bill X |

The weather's been terrible ever since I got my new scooter. I think I've only taken it out once on roads free of water, ice or grit and that was the Saturday before we got all this snow.
It may be horrid riding in the rain, but when we do get a nice day I'll be whizzing ahead because it all seems so easy on dry roads Bill: that is one schmexy scooter! Just the right colour too. Doug: don't tempt me! Actually, if I had that sort of money, I'd import an Aerostich (I have an eBay Favourite Search set up in case one in my size comes up secondhand). |

If it's any consolation, it's started snowing here.
I went shopping on the bike (pedal) and just got back in time, only to find Ed venting the house as his old PC had gone very bang, caught fire and blown all the fuses! What a Gay Day! |

got my bitubo front shock fitted by cbswhitton (thanks for the recommendation jim) this morning. fantastic service and all done on time and very reasonably priced, despite them encountering problems with siezed bolts.
i'll be going to cbs for servicing from now on and they even have an MP3 courtesy bike, so that'll be fun. the new bitubo shock is a revelation. my old shock was much worse than i thought it was. it's posssible that a new stock shock may have had a similar effect, but the ride is so much more planted now. i'm starting to think that vespa front shocks won't last much longer than two years. especially with all the potholes in london and the fact that i have to bump up a big kerb to get the bike into my front garden every day. well happy. and it looks super-cool. |

OH-MY-GOD, HOW CRAP IS THIS WEATHER, I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SICK OF IT and... Alice (here it comes, a bit more), "TELL ME ABOUT IT", this reminds me (wait for it) of when I used to live in new zealand and I was 17 and i bought myself with hardly saved cash my first hair straighteners (which weren't that good) and it rained for 6 months straight, so I could never enjoy fully frizz free lovely hair and by the time it got sunny and dry i had gone off the straightners im yet to enjoy a perfect day's ride on my Velma. I even felt bad for taking her out of the shop where she was under cover and warm waiting for a sensible summer buyer. |

It was my duty to go to the Ace tonight (MAG meeting - of two as it turned out) and had to use the GP800 instead of the Fuoco, as the Fuoco's indicators are still intermittent. T'was fine - except for the pin-lock inner visor on the Nolan 103 helmet. Bloody thing allows water in between the inner and outer visors - and this is my second replacement visor set! In the end I was only able to see out of the middle bit, straight ahead, no side vision at all. I can feel a DFA building up... (Different Fucking Arrangement). The Bob Heath Veewipe Visor Cleaner was perfick for keeping the outside clear of clagged snow though.

Yikes to riding home in snow flurry - ick! Need a little wiper on the visor. Cleared up pretty quick but you have my sympathies maver. I used to like snow, now it means boredom.
I did have a bit of fun with some sports bikes on the way home along the A4 who seemed a bit surprised at being beaten at the lights by a scooter.... more than once. His nibs seems excited about learning to ride and buying a scoot. With a little bit of luck it should all be done by this weekend. All his mates at work are now thinking about riding in... it is catching, this scooter disease! |

Maver why not check the forecast a week before the ride to Le Touquet then make a choice ?
The transaction has taken place in case you were wondering. MikeO Have you got the lekki sorted out now Ed fused the entire crib ? God I hope it stops snowing before Saturday. I really need a good ride out to somewhere. Hey if it wasn't for the weather the English would have nothing to talk about. Regards Billy-no-scoot |
